Tequila story.

So I was in NCO Leadership School.   I was the class leader.  A few of us drank ONE night in the dorm.   We were drinking tequila and I ate the worm.  That was the ONE night the instructors decided to pay us a visit.  Now, drinking was allowed, but unfortunately I showed up to class like 3 minutes late the next day.

That was when any chance I had for an award from that class went right out the window.  I was a distinguished graduate and the master of ceremonies in both NCO Prep and the NCO Academy, but that one night of tequila during NCO Leadership school.... :-)

I think many of us have a tequila story ...

I went out one night and after a couple of drinks, my friend and I started doing tequila shots.

I don't remember the rest.

Hilarious. Was caught unawares despite the hint.

That song, derided as disco excess, has had a few excellent covers. It's got a surprisingly sturdy skeleton to build on. Here are a couple I like. One's apparently brand new, the second's pretty well known (contains one brief NSFW language variant].

You and I could get along on a road trip if you're a fan of Cake!

I don't, surprisingly.  But my wife does.

Mine are all mostly related to rum and vodka.  I don't drink rum anymore.

yeah ... that was a better version than the 40s swing version ... but I do like the Gloria Gaynor version, too ... it's just so ... I mean it defined that era, I give it props for that. It's even a bit campy. I like campy.

Whiskey.  I remember taking, believe it or not (and in keeping of the origin of this thread), 13 shots of whiskey on Friday the 13th, last day of my junior year in high school.  I had never had any alcohol other than communal wine before that day.  It was over 90 degrees that day and I umpired two girls softball games that day with the first one starting 4 hours after my last shot.

That was over 30 years ago. I still can't even deal with the smell of whiskey, much less drink it.

Are you sure you aren't some sort of pickled zombie?  Sheesh.

As a freshman in college, I had never had vodka.  I was handed a shot, which I promptly threw down.  I promptly asked for another.  Got it.  Said to myself, this stuff is good and it's no big deal.  Three more shots inside of half an hour later I had no idea where I was.

And that is how I became a whiskey drinker.

Calgary, 2009, 97th Grey Cup game, Saskatchewan Roughriders lead the Montreal Alouettes, 27-25. On the games last possession, Montreal drives the ball to the Riders 36 yard line and with .05 seconds left on the clock, Alouette kicker Damon Duval lines up for a 43 yard field goal to win the game, he pushes the ball wide right and seemingly Saskatchewan has won................except wait, there is a flag down on the field, the Riders are penalized for too many men. Duval tries again, this time from 33 yards out and Montreal wins the Grey Cup.

And with that, the term "A Rider Dozen" is born........................................except in Saskatchewan.

What kind of weird un-American sport are you rattling on about?

(Yah, I'm still alive, barely. Systems Admin for a school system + school starting=Long days and no TD)
