Just another Canadian question. Why a 6:07pm start time? I see 6:10, 7:10, 6:05, 7:05, etc. on a regular basis. Is it their national anthem that makes the start time seem irregular?

Just curious.

Maybe just because they're used to it for hockey. I recall most college and NHL hockey games starting at 7:07, 7:37, etc.

This video may be the most Canadian thing I've ever seen. North, do I need to ask if you have goalie equipment??

Hockey games here typically start at 7:00, well, that's the posted time, it's really 7:15 to allow a beer line buffer.

Does Canada have State Fairs? Or in their case, Province Fairs?

No, it's more a small town thing, Town fairs are very popular all across the country. I think the best one around these parts is the Morden Corn and Apple Festival, those Mennonites do it up right!

Of course, as the well known TD bearer of bad news, we all know that the Polar Bears are pretty much fighting for their lives, yes?

Sad but true Craig, although they are not on the threatened for extinction list, and hopefully won't be anytime soon. There is a lot being done in the North to protect Polar Bears from further threat, unfortunately the biggest threat to their widespread range is climate change.

Those poor bears are 'hooped,' wouldn't you say?

My understanding is that they are being driven south to find food in sufficient number that the nanulak (polar/grizzly hybrids) population has become more noticeable.

Whether you like Drake's music or not, he's probably the most well known right now.....As for Rush, let's just say that their appeal is not universal, though I like their music.....there are days I love Arcade Fire, then I hear the same sound over and over, and think "this is a BIT much".

Having just looked up Canadian rock band lists on line, I'm not sure who my favourite* would be.

Of the soloists, I think I only have owned Alanis Morrissette music.....I hear a lot of recent Bieber stuff when my 19 year old has control over the car music, he knows how to do hooks. Neil Young is probably the best, most importanat, along with Joni Mitchell. I do like Dianna Krall....

* I believe that is the correct spelling for this topic.

Vancouvinians The Be Good Tanya's first album "Blue Train" is a great album.
