200 post lag time and you came up with THAT??

I've spent all day at a convention in Dallas.

My brain is like cream of mushroom soup. Open my skull and throw in some tator tots and you'll have a ready made bowl for serving at Minnesota Church Gatherings.

We've started swapping out the cream of mushroom for cream of chicken.  Bold, I know.  Blasphemous, even.

But give it a shot.

Game thread:  15 pages generated.

Twins pitching staff:  15 runs generated.

Coincidence?

September headline:  "Berrios/Dean Outing Causes Server Fire, Internet Outage"

Or is that 'Internet Outrage'?

It'll probably look like the Twins haven't won a World Series in 57 years!

Now now now I was a young lad of 5 when the twins last won. I actually have a very vague memory of it happening because my dad was quite happy (he's obviously a twins fan and obviously got me into this mess)

Poor Alex Wimmers.  Makes his major league debut and not even folks diehard enough to be in a game thread at this point in THIS game in THIS season notice.

His MOM prolly tuned out 4 innings ago.

I was gonna say something about it but then my search for a sleeping Corgi picture made me pretty tired.

That, plus he's Alex Wimmers.

Tonkin's been pretty bad as of late. Then again, who hasn't been terrible?

meh, I'm ready to move on from Tonkin.  The strikeouts are nice but he doesn't do anything else well.  too many HR's allowed, can't hold a runner worth a crap.  Seems to let tons of inherited runners score.

Three Pistols

Saw them July 30, 1991, five days after I became a dad for the first time. My friend made a bootleg of the show. Not good quality but OK none the less. Sitting with him in the first row in the balcony of what was then called the Walker Theater, he always wanted us to not talk to him during the show so his recording device wouldn't pick it up. Three Pistols was the first song of the night and I don't know if this chick was drunk, high, both or trying to be ironic as she was really loud and was leaning over the edge of the balcony (then she sighed and she fell from the balcony?). Anyway, on the recording there is an audible, from me, JUMP or STFU.

True story.

GCTF bent to touch

I got to hang out for a bit with the band backstage in Minneapolis when they opened for Page/Plant.

Gord refused to speak to anyone... Like he was pissed to be there. He just sat on a table in the corner. The rest of the guys were real cool. Dan Aykroyd was also backstage. It was Dan, my wife, some other person I don't know, A record rep and the entire band.

I think Gord was pissed because he just played for about 100 people and everybody started showing up at the end for Page/Plant.

Americans just didn't get a chance to discover the Hip.

Was there, Gordie walked out bald as a cue ball, the lights came on and they went right into Three Pistols and didn't let up all night. One of the things I remember most was the three people in front of us being  the only ones sitting down and seeming right put off by it. Hopefully their life got better over the years.
