From what I understand, the Oktoberfest beers in Germany are quite different than the ones here. They're a bit lighter (color and texture) over there. More poundable, if you will.

Same here. I'd argue that it's inconsistently implemented. Some times I think it should be called and isn't, other times it is called and looks like a ridiculous call.
