MY LAST STADIUM! Anyone going to Toronto?

Well... the pilgrimage is ALMOST over! At the end of the month I'm headed to Toronto to catch the Twins on in Rogers Centre, checking off my last of the 30 MLB stadiums! I'm flying in and out of Rochester and plan on catching a few Red Wings games while I'm there as well.

Just wanted to check in and see if anyone else will be making the trek to the land of the North? Would be awesome to connect with a few other Twins fans while I'm there!

I won't be in Toronto, but that's a cool bucket list item to visit all 30 MLB parks. What would be your top 5 ball fields?

Hmmm.... I have a clear top three, but the last two spots are a battle:

1. Target Field (of course!)

2. Petco Park

3. AT&T Park

---

After that, it's a toss up between Coors Field, Fenway, Dodgers Stadium, and Wrigley.

Coors Field is very underrated, I love it there!

I have to get to Fenway one day.

I have six left. I guess you will be making a return trip to Atlanta and Texas once they get their new stadiums but I have been able to get so far because most of the teams have new stadiums now. I think the only one where I have been to the old stadium but not the new stadium is Cincinnati, the rest I either never got to the old stadium or have been to both the old stadium and the new stadium. I want to go to Atlanta because then I can go to a Lookouts game at the same time but I figured I might as well wait until they got their new stadium. I might make it to Texas before they get their new stadium though since that's still a few years away.

The ones I have left are Toronto, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Miami, Texas and Houston and out of the ones I've been to so far PNC Park in Pittsburgh is my favorite. I just went to Citi Field in New York over Fourth of July weekend and really liked that one. I would definitely go back there before I would go back to Yankee Stadium but maybe that's partly because I'm a Twins fan who has some strong feelings about the Yankees.  :)

Rogers won't be a threat to any of your top lists that's for sure.

Not sure which games you're going to but do yourself a favour and visit the Steamwhistle brewery across the street from Rogers, it's a great pre-game place to go.

I can't wait to see the new Braves stadium!! I've got big expectations after everything I've read about it, but I trust it's going to be awesome. :)

While the park may be great, the behind the scenes stuff with it is absolutely despicable, so I'm going to struggle with it. Even on the media video tours they've done, I'm not seeing anything that'd ever supplant PNC for me.

Other organizations have affiliates, sample them too. :)

I like the rundown parks in warehouse districts of small cities (I miss Waterloo Iowa having a MiLB team, of all places), the downtown jewels of more recent vintage (Reno and Indianapolis come to mind), the picturesque ones (Quad Cities is one I keep mentioning). Oddball venues like the Cape Cod League are worthwhile too, as well as the independent pro leagues.

Great excuse for road trips with like-minded friends having a week or just a weekend to burn - with some care you can map out a hub airport to fly in and out of and several nearby cities whose home schedules happen to mesh for two or three or even four games in a weekend.

I'm going to Toronto but unfortunately not until October. Yes, for a work conference or I obviously would have scheduled this better. I'm crossing my fingers that they will be in the playoffs, it would be cool to go to a Blue Jays game. I went to a conference in St. Louis last year in November - apparently they didn't feel the need to consult me when they chose those dates. :)

I have to second the Quad Cities ballpark - that is my favorite minor league stadium, completely renovated and just so picturesque along the Mississippi. If you live in Minnesota and haven't been to CHS Field (St. Paul Saints new ballpark) I would recommend that one as well. Nice to have some close options since it gets pricey galavanting across the country to see all the ballparks!

Has anyone been to any of the minor league ballparks in North Carolina? I may be going there next year and know they have several teams. I am going to be mainly in the Durham area so am thinking about the Durham Bulls and possibly making a side trip to Asheville. (Not just to see a game, I have heard that area is beautiful and I want to see the Biltmore Estate too.) Thanks!

I have not, but my wife and I just had the conversation of our summer trip in 2017 as I'd like to hit up minor league stadiums. The Braves no longer have a Carolina League team, but I've been told very good things about the stadiums in that league in general.
