Hopefully it's been a few years for all of us without getting an overdraft notice. I learned my lesson years ago while I was in college about overdrafting... Summer of 2009, just finished my freshman year of college, and no company in my hometown were hiring kids for summer jobs. I've never been more broke in my life than that summer.

Fortunately one of my neighbor's who owns a farm hired me on to help bail hay. It was hard work, not a lot of pay, but it gave me some walking around money!

And left you money so after a night out on the town, you could post bale! :)

A Millennial who actually did some hard work and got his hands dirty for crap money… impressive. ;)

I thought it was in poor taste for Brian or mention the editor. Up until now most had considered that the rambling incoherent musings he puts forth on a several day schedule were the product of his own, obviously pharmaceutically altered brain. (I use the word brain in its clinical tense). Now we find he has an editor, a mentor. It makes one shudder to imagine what could be, without such a filter to screen us from the original "thoughts". (I use the term "thoughts" with apology to Mr. Webster and his book).

I worked my way through college.  Mostly as a bartender at the campus bar.

Bet you can't tell me what was the only thing that was served and what State.

Ok, ok.  It was beer and it was at UW-Platteville

Fun fact: the first university/college in the State to serve alcohol on campus.

#4 The Over Draft. For our first house, my dad co-signed for the downpayment at one bank, and we borrowed the money for the rest of it at another bank. The Monthly on the DP loan was due, and things weren't going well. I walked in and asked the clerk, "what's the absolute least I need to pay" she said $20.00. I reached deep and came up with the very last twenty dollars in my possession. That left me completely broke, and not just on paper. That will cause some sleepless nights.

I grew up in the country so manual labor wasn't anything new. Bailing hay was by far the most grueling manual labor I've done... didn't have to work out much that summer!

Going to Fogo de Chao this evening. Will probably get something stronger.

Try to have fun enjoying the game.

You too, Mr. Pohlad.

Lucky you, poor Jim is stuck in his suite, with apparently not even a chaise lounge to rest in, wondering why all, well used to be all, those people want the team to win. Carl must be rolling in his grave, JHC boys, I thought I told you never to talk to the press! Not even the little ones!

My mother's parents grew on farms in the heartland of Wisconsin. They came from huge families. I think my grandpa had 11 or 12 siblings and my grandma had 5. They all moved to the Twin Cities or Milwaukee except for 3 of them. It's a hard life.

For you, a pint of bitter. In a thin glass.

Same here, with my family.  I think it had something to do with the end of a couple World Wars and LOT's of celebrating   ;-)

I have to call you on this one: Twins fans, by their very nature, are not a fussy bunch. If we were, would we be following the sorry excuse for an MLB team known as the Twins?

I suppose you're right, I'm certainly not fussy about what I drink when I watch the Twins, pretty much anything that kills my senses works.

My dad was born in 1924, mom 1928.  WWI babies.

Grandpa was 1928 and Grandma was 1932. Their fathers would have been old enough to be WWI, but I am not sure if they served. They were full blooded German, I am not sure they were very desirable for service.
