For a real take on the Florida experience one needs to read Tim Dorsey's series of books on Serge and Coleman. Serge, one of the most creative serial killers of all time is an expert on Florida history and traditions! :)

Speaking of serial killlers, they have to be close to extinction, right? I can't remember the last time I heard about one in recent memory. I guess that's a good thing we no longer have the Ted Bundy, Zodiac Killer, and Jeffrey Dahmer's of the world.

Serial killers tend to try and keep things on the down low. :)

They've been recruited by ISIS and the drug cartels.

Brilliant! The topic of serials killers is intriguing to me. What they did to victims isn't the intriguing part, just to make it clear. I'm more fascinated as to how they got so messed up in the head to justify doing what they did.

seems like no one recognizes the only reason florida even exists: air conditioning.

It also exists to provide ridiculous news stories that the rest of the country can shake their heads in unison to. Such as a brawl between dads at a little league game, a 6 month old girl setting a water skiing record, or a woman claiming she's playing "Mermaid" while swimming up to houses and robbing them

Florida is the gift that keeps on giving.

Don't forget swamp land, pill mills, and extremely affordable health insurance. :).

Years ago, okay, decades ago, I heard a news report about a business in San Francisco that was robbed by a guy wearing lime green bell-bottom pants and a purple jacket. The robber escaped by disappearing  into the crowd.....

Florida gives the rest of us the best weird crime stories.  I just saw this one:

"Cops: Man arrested on drug charges after hitting van with machete"

Well done, Florida.  Well done.
