And, further, to confuse matters even more, this particular march also has a subtitle, "Land of Hope and Glory," which refers to words that were written to go with this music. So, the complete title, if you will, of this march is Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 in D major, "Land of Hope and Glory."

Now that i got a tune in my head, i perhaps could use the words too. Not that i have anything against humming.

 

But i am unfamiliar with this "Land of hope and glory"...

 

Not a Phil Ochs tune either, i gather...

10.12 (a) The official scorer shall charge an error against any fielder:

1. whose misplay (fumble, muff or wild throw) prolongs the time at bat of a batter, prolongs the presence on the bases of a runner or permits a runner to advance one or more bases,......

I know it doesn't always look like it but these are supposed to be professional baseball players, that would be an error in little league.

Good thing, because we were starting to fondly remember Jimbo's dissertation on the use of the word "irony."   

 

In the likely event I used or spelled dissertation incorrectly, I'm not caring in advance.

 

(For the record, I liked the comment that defended Jimbo's grammar nazi post, and I'm really only playing here, too.)
