Missed Warnings

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if any consideration is given with regard to missing warnings? That is, say a moderator posts in a thread that continuing X is going to warrant a warning. Then you continue X because you didn't read the post. Are we supposed to read every post to watch for this kind of thing?

Generally, moderator warnings in a thread tend to be of the "let's knock off the bickering"

You might get a little leeway if your post is time stamped within a few minutes of the warning, but if you just continue right after that, you're doing so at your own risk.

It isn't a perfect system.  We can miss posts.  Posters can miss warnings.

I sometimes wonder how long warning points last.

I sometimes wonder whether people read the TD Comment Policy. :) It's covered there.

Problem is, one might not even notice a warning got assigned without a PM. I know i dont go looking in my profile to see if i have one or make note to look if i have one when i make a post.

Then you need to adjust your notifications in your settings so you are receiving a notification when you get a warning. Every warning point given comes with an explanation, but you need to click into it to see it. Click on your points, then click on the little box that says 'more details' and you should see the explanation. In the notification you should also see who gave it to you so if you need more clarification you can PM the moderator who gave you the warning.
