Article: Game Thread: Twins v Orioles, 7/28, make-up game from 5/9, @ 6:10pm CT

You promised 9 pence. This was only 5 pence! You shorted us 4 pence. (I did the math, I was afraid that like Chiefs jokes, it was too complex for TD) I was a farm boy, and if your short 4 pence, that's a lot of hogs running loose!

I just put my 9 pence in.

Long before I had vertigo issues, I loved roller coasters. In fact, it could've been roller coasters that caused my middle-aged vertigo. And I SCREEEEEEEEEEAMED on them ... not because I was scared or compelled to or couldn't help myself ... but because it made the ride that much more fun. To just let it out and ride with the wind! And I would especially wind up for the most death-curdling scream I could whenever it zipped close by and standers-by watching the fun. The hope was it would freak them out so much they wouldn't want to try it. My attempts at shortening the line. In my even younger days, instead of the loud screaming at the standers-by, my friends and I would make loud vomit noises. Yes, I did such a thing. We did that on a lot of rides that came near any spectators. People really jumped and scattered.

I love this! Brilliant! Did it work out for shortening the lines?

Someone is kidding me, is this Brian's lineup? We have Mauer leading off, which is ok. But not if the trade off is Dozier in the 3 hole. As for Park? I will leave that to the nattering nabobs of negativism. I wish to refine yesterday's short form analysis of the Twins roster! If Plouffe is hitting fourth, you just cannot have a good team. Now I have to add, if Dozier is your 3 hitter, your lineup has serious flaws!

I actually like Dozier in the 3 better than 1 or 2 because it's closer to 5 or 6 so I'm happy with the progress.

Dozier approach at the plate is like a big power hitting drive em in dude so Bat him in the order like someone who approaches his plate appearances like a big power hitting drive em in dude.

All in All... Not the way I would do it but I applaud the shake em up style.

One last thing... Look at the lineup again. Besides Suzuki... Vets at the top of the order... Youth at the bottom.

Molly's handling of youth continues.

So, first time through the order should look something like...

Joe Mauer(L) 1B - Ball in Play, no out(s)
Eduardo Nunez(R ) SS - Ball in play, out(s)
Brian Dozier(R ) 2B - K
Trevor Plouffe(R ) 3B - K
Miguel Sano(R ) RF-Solo HR
Byung-ho Park(R ) DH - Solo HR
Oswaldo Arcia(L) LF - Solo HR
Kurt Suzuki(R ) C - Ball in play, out(s)
Danny Santana(S) CF - Strikeout

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Awesome we got 3 runs in the 2nd inning and Berrios on the mound.

Yeah, pretty ... um ... what? I get Mauer lead-off, but Dozier 3rd and Plouffe 4th? Why not Sano 3rd, Park 4th, Plouffe 5th and Dozier 6th? Or something. But 3rd and 4th? Right. It is possible for us to score fewer runs than we have.

Oh come on now.  We wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings by dropping them too far in the order...well, maybe just Santana, but that's all the feelings we want to hurt.  Too many hurt feelings just brings the whole team down and we can't have that or we'll start losing...oh wait...already losing...well, we can't have it because we might lose by more.

Hard to know for sure ... but ... the vomit noise thing was really quite funny. The fear on people's faces as they jumped aside ... priceless. Don't think I could do that now and feel good about myself, but I was fine with myself doing that back then. :)

I wouldn't have any complaints with this. Don't think the Twins have scored 3 runs in one trip through the order too many times this year.

3 solo homeruns are just as good as a 3 run homerun. Maybe even better if you believe as some TV announcers do that such a homerun is a rally killer.

I'm thinking baseball might be more interesting if the team at the bottom of the division by 10+ games is granted a waiver on PED testing.  I mean why waste the money?  If you are 10+ games out and you're already doing PEDS, you really, really suck and you should get a waiver on testing anyway.  On the other hand, if your 10+ games out and you just suck, maybe some PEDS will kick start the season and make it more interesting.

I know, with insightful thinking like that, you're probably thinking I should be the commish and I couldn't agree more.

On any other day or week, I'd like the new lineup.  Nothing like trying to shake thinks up.  However......

I'm not convinces either Dozier or Plouffe are completely healed.  Haven't seen Dozier, but Plouffe looked pretty stiff yesterday.  I would have gone with Park 3rd and Arcia cleanup.  Danny Santana has looked pretty beat the last few days.  Lucky TR called up a back OF and JUST IN TIME!

I'm hoping Berrios does his job and that somehow the offense pulls it together tonight; but, if something is amiss and what I'd like to happen doesn't, I really don't want to do chores again. So can we just talk about roller coasters on the game thread?

Shouldn't there be a ground rule double in there somewhere when we have a runner on first that eventually gets stranded at 3rd?
