What you don't understand the Twins can actually WIN on some trades?

be on the 60/40 or 70/30 side of things Doc?

it Doesn't always have to be 50/50 or 20/80 (Ramos for Capps ect.)

as a Twins fan does it Doc?

:The D'backs Gm Dave Stewart is one of the best guys to do deals with when he thinks his MLB club can win.

Billy Beane at times also.

It's much to early to declare a winner in this trade.

Speaking of Herrmann. He hit a game winning home run today. Now I wonder if he got a fair look here. He seems to be doing well with more regular playing time.

He actually hit 2 HRs today. Major Beast Mode.

Still not a very good catcher or hitter.

I wouldn't know. I will take your word for it. Small sample of course. Maybe he just needed a change of scene.

Nothing against him. I'm just saying he had every chance and then some to stick with the Twins. A change of scenery sometimes is the best solution. Unfortunately, by comparison and in the case of JR Murphy, so far it's been the worst possible solution. The good news is that, on paper, Murphy is 3.5 years younger, definitely the better catcher and at least as good, if not superior at the plate (OPS+ of 74 vs. Hermann's OPS+ of 49).

Maybe he didn't do anything with the chances he got, but I disagree he got every chance and then some. The Twins tried to make him into a corner outfielder at one point. Because of his big bat I am assuming. He didn't even catch in 2014 (one MLB inning the entire season). Even in Rochester in 2014 he played more outfield than catcher. Now if they had ever traded him at any point during that stretch, they probably would have gotten no more than Palka anyway. But just to play the hindsight card, it would be nice to have some good catching here right now, instead of another strikeout prone outfield prospect in the minors. So far, Herrmann is playing in Arizona twice as much as he played here, give or take.

"Good Catching" and Chris Hermann are two things that don't go well together in the same sentence.
