I don't like the fact that Meyer is struggling but I'm really doubting Molitors ability to manage players.

If Meyer is a reliever, he needs to be used like a reliever. If he's a starter, he needs to be used like a starter.

9 days without throwing in a game? Molitor looking for an excuse to ship Meyer back to AAA?

Does Alex Meyer bear NO responsibility for his resutls?

He did the same last year.

I have no idea... but If I had to make a bet... I'd say yes.

In what sane world do you bring in a kid who has shown flashes of briliance, yet struggles at times, and have him face one of the fiercest lineups in MLB?

I don't think anyone is saying he deserves no blame for how he pitches.

But a managers/coaches job is to put players on the best position to succeed.

Do you feel they've done that with Meyer over the last 10 days?

But did he go 9 days between starts? How was he doing at AAA before being called up?

No, this is not a good outing, but I cannot help but think Molitor put Meyer in a position where he was almost guaranteed to fail.

I would have handled it different but you are correct.

It also shows that Molly was probably right to trust his judgement and not throw Meyer on Monday after he was called up.

Meyer was brutal... and it's fault but he didn't have much support.

Tonight... I would have left him in to work some kinks out if he could.

You might as well send him straight down to AAA now. Forget the Tuesday start... Molitor is going to grit his teeth if he's forced to start him on Tuesday.

Said it much better than I did.

Meyer was throwing his fastball same speed, no movement. Maybe Meyer is a candidate for a Walter Johnson conversion... Stride halfway between home and 3rd, pivot and sling the ball straight sidearm. With Meyer's long limbs, the ball would be coming from such a scary angle... Personally I think it's easier to control the height of a sidearm throw. You just slide your arm along a table top, roll your forearm. Like skipping stones for distance.

Okay ... I got bored and started filling in a form for a band name generator. I was supposed to put in random words and names, etc. One of the words I used was "stoning." I didn't mention the Twins at all (are they worth mentioning?), but it turns out this website collected cookies. I'm supposed to call my band "Stoning Twins."

Sounds like a right good idea at that.

The same world that gives Kepler is only start against a left hander.

I'll bet a large sum of money that Molitor wasn't very interested in the news that Ryan Called him up.

But also keep in mind... Molitor isn't stupid... He's probably getting session reports from Neil Allen as well.

Meyer wasn't supported... that is for sure but... he's got some info.

If Neil comes back and says... Meyer is spot on... Mechanics look great... the ball is popping. 2nd Pitches have command.

Molly would listen.

I'd never teach that.

6 8 guys have such awesome reach. When they stride and extend. Makes 98 look like 103.

He's just got to get those mechanics down. If he hasn't yet... It's on Meyer.

There is almost nothing I like about this manager and how he handles players

So far my three favorite things about his managing are tripling for his 3000th hit,   his covert plan to abuse the bunt so badly that MLB bans it forever,   and his not being Gardenhire.

Now that the novelty of watching someone besides Gardenhire    #*@%    things up is wearing off,   there's not a lot to hang your hat on.

What would you suggest he have done?  Bring him into a winnable 1 run game, so he could put up that performance and actually cost the team a game?

If anything, he put him into a situation where he should have felt as little pressure as possible.  The game was pretty much over.  He STILL crumbled like a 2 week old cracker.

He needs to start Tues, and in 5 days after that. It's time to see if he can or can't.
