What moves would you make right now?

I used to be firmly in that camp.  But what we don't know the internal evaluation of a 270 pound third  baseman

Further, it may have been an investment at 3B where he was going to be bad this year anyway, but if they have concluded he wasn't going to be there long they aborted mission and concluded that he is likely a DH in 1-2 years, or 1-2 months if the RF expiriment goes bad.

I think the Twins remember the struggle we had between Koskie in 2004 and Trevor Plouffe in 2012.  Lamb, Punto, Cuddyer,  Bautista, etc.

It looks like the market is better for 3B nowadays.  But it wouldn't be the first time where un-neccesary anxiety plays a role in roster/lineup construction for the Twins.

This has been the head scratcher for me all winter, moving Sano to the outfield.

Last year, after coming back from TJ, they said his hitting will come first, the defense will take more time. The games I saw last year, he could handle the tough plays at 3rd, coming in on slow rollers and gunning it to first, etc. but sometimes he would muff the routine plays.

Mid summer, Sano's promoted to Twins to DH. This winter, he's moved to RF. So, it's been about 9 mo's and he hasn't seen 3rd base. Are they afraid he's going to be a Sandoval. I'm perplexed. I know I'm beating a dead horse. I gotta move on.

Changes required:  TD posters to accept this team isn't all that good;  Young players need experience--at real competition--MLB;  youth needs character development--playing through tough times and overcoming failure;  realization by the "young studs" that they aren't "all that" and changes and flexibility is required to succeed; and patience.  Last year's winning record relieved the pressure of constant stink--use that goodwill obtained to further develop.

I think if I spent all winter assembling this team, and all spring training making decisions on what's the best current deployment, I'd give it more than a week before making big decisions.

Although, figuring out how to put more usable options in the pen might not be a bad idea immediately.  It's just "mind boggling" how they're to afraid to use a guy like Tonkin in a prominent role, for a couple years now, while simultaneously afraid he'll be claimed by another team, so he must be kept on the 25 man roster.

I think this is pretty much spot on.

Really, how we feel now after 7 games is pretty much how we felt after 7 games last season. In fact, I believe we are only 1 game "worse" through 7 games at this point. Despite faults, on paper at least, this is or should be a better club overall. And despite the mounting frustration, we are playing better, in closer games, that at this time last year.

While disappointment abounds, I am a bit surprised at Park. I know he's making a big adjustment, but like a lot of our struggling hitters at the moment, I just thought I saw a better approach during ST than what we are seeing now. Does this mean sending him down? I don't know. It may be too early for something like that. Maybe a couple days, or a series, where Arcia actually gets to play and he sits?

If Kepler is going to be up, to echo other sentiments, then he needs to play and not sit on the bench. He may succeed or fail, but either way, he'Lloyd take something away with him when he does go down. (Unless he's this year'so version of Rosario and sticks)

Maybe Sano should DH a few days, and just concentrate on hitting, finding a groove, and not play the field. This could co-incide with Park sitting.

Despite early struggles, Dozier has produced in the #1 spot and likes it. I think I'd probably keep him there for now. I'd put Escobar...someone actually playing well...in the 2 spot and bat Mauer third. Is that Mauer's ideal spot these days? I don't know, but like Escobar, he's actually been hitting. And I'd put the veteran Plouffe at cleanup for now, bumping Sano down a spot. Kepler 6th?

The bullpen...I really don't know what to say. What I think should have happened it's too late to do now. But not to pile on further, something is definitely missing in regard to Fien. I just don't know, this early on, who you would even replace him with.

Or it was hey.....you had 4 hits yesterday you get 1st shot at pinch hitting today.  They were down 3 in the 9th, I really wouldn't look too far into 1 pinch hitting at bat.  Arcia was on deck to pinch when the game ended 2 days earlier.

Again, Nunez was hit on the wrist on Sunday, he was holding the bat pretty feebly with his right hand on Monday (despite DickNBert saying it was just a "bad bruise"). Not sure if he should have been swinging at all on Monday.
