Adding GIFs in threads

Well, you can post it as a photo if you take an image capture of what you want. Or, do you see that photo icon with the tree on it, up there in the middle of the reply box? Click on that and follow the steps. Like this. Is this what you mean?

And, further ... you need to be in 'Full Version' mode if you are on your phone, I think ... not sure how to do that in the mobile version.

Not sure if you can do it from your phone ... if you are in full version mode you should be able to ... and Im not sure if you can from an iPad. When I'm on my iPad, I don't have the full features. But on a laptop or desktop, you should be able to post by how I said ... click on the photo icon with the tree on it from the menu bar of the reply box, put in the url of the gif you want to use, and voila.

 

And if your reply box isn't showing you all those features, click on 'Use Full Editor' to see those features.

Although, I think those are supposed to have sound, yes? Not sure how to get that. But don't do sounds gifs, that would be annoying.

With great power, comes great responsibility. I'll restrict my GIF usage to the Whine Line thread and potentially game threads..

Meh ... images and whatnot in threads is just a 'personal taste' thing for me - well placed it has great effect ... every post, and it loses something. A happy medium is usually a tough balancing act to find.  But game threads and the whine line ... go to town.

Thanks.  By the way.  This may sound like a real dumb question but how do I start a Game Thread? I know the format it's supposed to be in just not sure how I start it.  Is there a place on the site that I can go in order to start writing it?  

 

I'm on the schedule to do Saturdays game thread.  Still a novice...Sorry.

 

In fact I have wanted to start a thread topic in Forums before but not sure how to do it.  I'm assuming it probably works the same as a game Thread.

Go into the forum where you want to start a new discussion thread. So, for a game thread, go into the Twins Talk forum. At the top of the forum to the right side you'll see a black box that says 'Start New Topic.' Click on that. Fill out the title/subject of the thread ... for game threads you'd put 'Game Thread: Twins v Other Team, date @ time.'

 

Then fill in the body of the thread.

 

When you are done, click on 'Post New Topic' and you are done.

 

For game threads, one of the moderators will pin it to the top of the forum when we see it added. (We have 'special powers' that give us some added technical abilities like that.)

 

This goes for any new topic you want to discuss. Just click on the 'Start New Topic,' fill it in and click post. Just make sure you are in the right forum for your topic, i.e. minor leagues or other (non-Twins) baseball talk. We even have a forum (Sports Bar) that's for everything else ... other sports, non-sports, politics, books, music, etc. But if you accidentally post something in the wrong forum, someone (one of the moderators) will move it where it should be.
