The stock market

Huh. I should have checked first. Buddy told me Best Buy was offering the Pixel for $400 but I can't verify that now.

He was probably thinking of the Nexus 6p (is that right? i forget google's naming schema), which is considerably cheaper but is a year old and wasn't a flagship phone when it released.

The Nexus devices were always much cheaper than the iPhone but they were never meant to be flagship devices. They were nice devices, definitely, but not top-tier hardware.

It appears it's $300 with a new 2 year contract.... Still $799 retail price. I'm going to be on the market for a new cell phone after the holidays, and the Google Pixel is on the radar.

I know for damn sure I'm done with Samsung. 2nd time getting a Galaxy iteration, and both models have started to fail 1.5 years after purchasing the phone.

What about an iphone?

iPhone is certainly on my radar too.. The biggest issues with Samsung is their battery life and overheating issues... I constantly close running apps in the background, and limit to 4-5 apps installed. Still doesn't matter. The battery is nearly drained by the end of the work day with average use (internet and phone calls mostly), and constantly overheats in my pocket.

It really shouldn't be that hard to build a phone that can last a full day without charging it.... Ugh.

I'd avoid the iPhone 7. If you want an iPhone, wait for iPhone 8. It's going to be a huge redesign for the tenth anniversary of the device.

The early rumors are no home button, entirely glass phone with an edge-to-edge screen. The home button, touch ID, and all that jazz will be baked into the screen itself.

Strongly considering selling every stock in my retirement accounts Monday....at worst I lose a few points of gain. At more worst, I keep from losing twenty it thirty percent next week

It's not a terrible idea but I'm not ready to pay tax on my gains all at once.

Plus, I'm still confident Clinton will win on Tuesday.

I am expecting a huge drop if Trump wins and a significant (but short-lived) pop if Clinton wins.

Overall, I am bearish and holding about 50% in cash, waiting for the next 2008 level crash. I am also wary of any company that is paying a dividend less than 2% and that is not both profitable and growing.

Over the long run, I believe that the best investment will likely be apartment buildings, but real estate values go in cycles and we are at an all-time high.  I invest through syndications, because I don't want the management burdens, and my overall returns have exceeded 15% per year.  However, I have passed on these opportunities for the past two years or so, because I think that a major pullback is likely. That said, I have a buy order on APTS on the theory that it should do well over the long run.

If I didn't have some issues going on, I'd be buying RE or into a private trust right now for sure, even with prices too high....

Please be careful with that. If Trump wins then real estate could drop like a stone.

ON a P/E basis, Russian stocks are 80% discounted relative to American stocks. I'm looking at Yandex, and Russian banks. If Trump is buddy buddy with Putin, we could see movement on Russian sanctions.

I probably wouldn't touch Russian stocks unless you're trigger happy with when to sell them.  Russia's underlying economic troubles are legit and frightening and just being buddy buddy with the US President isn't going to fix those problems.  We might see some movement based on things like expectations and hope but probably not on the fundamentals.
