Kluber out after 6. He lost his last start to the Twins and is down two with three innings to go. What are the odds that he doesn't win a game or perhaps loses both, when facing Hughes coming off a wobbly three inning start and Milone as an emergency starter coming off a shoulder injury.

Funny the Vikings are playing at Denver again Sunday. If they can crush the pocket like they did yesterday they will have a chance.

Would that be like making it a hot pocket for whathisname... the Denver QB?

 

I like it.

 

(always had a soft spot for hot pockets as a late night comfort food*)

Oh, you mean you want the footnote which i think has been mentioned in threads past?

 

Some, as have higher culinary standards, or perhaps weaker gastrointestinal tracts, would not deign to acknowledge the hot pocket category of food.

 

But it's there somewhere in the food pyramid. I think it's blinking eye of the illuminati, or some such, um... word. Brian, i think i need the turpentine again.

In fairness, the ball hit him in a difficult spot.

 

I was there when Jim Kleinsasser dropped a pass in the end zone with 33 seconds left in the final game of the year for the NCC Champsionship at North Dakota against Northern Colorado.

 

Final Score Northern Colorado 14 UND 9

 

Northern Colorado wins the title. 

 

 

The Pass hit Jim in that same difficult spot. It was like 12 degrees and It was hard because Jim was a beast and he was our beast but it was his final play in a UND Uniform and therefore the last memory. Until the Vikings took him in the 2nd round a few months later.

Other Big Moments that I remember where I was.

 

Hrbek's Grand Slam against the Cardinals in Game 6 1987: Friends house again... I remember this one because as soon as it left the park I turned away from the TV to face everybody and I did the exact thing with my arms that Kent Hrbek did... I turned away and I had no idea that Hrbek was copying me. 

 

Jack Morris Game 7 in 1991: I was at my cheap apartment in Grand Forks watching with my wife. I could barely take it. I kept moving around the apartment to find a lucky chair or spot. It was about the 7th inning when my wife yelled at me to JUST STOP... FIND A SPOT AND STAY THERE. I think I was sitting on her lap when Gene Larkin drove in the game winner. I told her she was my lucky spot. She couldn't respond because she couldn't breath. 

I was at the Metrodome for both of those moments. So was my wife. In 1987 we didn't know each other. In 1991 we had been married for one month.
