Am hoping for a laugher today in our favor with eight innings from Santana. He owes the team.

Speaking of laughing, it's been my observation over the years that the happiest teams seem to win the most. Of course, winning can make you happier, but I'll stick to my guns believing they were happy to begin with. The two happiest baseball teams this season appear to be KC and Pittsburgh. Houston and St. Louis are close behind. And so are the Twins, who look happy even when they're struggling.

That's my deep analysis for today.

Everyone did their job.  Mauer got him over and Rosario got him in.  That's all you can ask.  Also, according to my math, if this pace keeps up we will win 8-0.

Yeah, I know, that's very fair and sometimes it just is what it is. But when a pitcher is struggling it just feels like you should be able to make him pay more.

Was Gonsalves (sp) pitching last night? How did he look? Complete and thorough analysis, please.

Well, I didn't really keep track of his pitches. His first inning was good, but just was not sharp after that giving up walks and a homerun. But the starting pitcher for Bradenton was even worse. Walked the bases loaded after 2 outs and just had way many more control issues. He went ... 1.1, maybe? Gonsalves lasted 4, I think. I had a 90-yr old parent with me so my focus was a little split. And we left after 4 because those 4 innings took a long time and it started raining.

Good stuff from Santana through 5. This kind of start is what the Twins paid for. Let's hope he can keep throwing like this.

I'm holding my breath hoping. And I don't care if I turn blue and pass out.

Sounds like fun. Often the game isn't the only thing when you see a baseball game.

Try humoring your [hypothetical] flute teacher. :) You'll learn pretty quickly that passing out is not an option, while turning blue is a requirement ... well, at least an expectation. :)

I like the minor league game experience. The hometown crowd isn't large, but is very loyal and really knows the players. Some even pay a lot of attention to Cedar Rapids eyeing who might be with the team in the next season.

When I lived in Knoxville I saw a couple of games at Elizabethton, TN and Johnson City, TN ...

... the "problem" there was the players were all such a raw level it was hard to project anything onto any of them ...

... with the exception of watching Matt Garza, who was already streaking through the system. I thought he acted like a petulant brat who thought he was better than everyone else (I don't think, in the long run, I was that wrong).
