The difference is Fielder's weighs more than the two Twins runners combined.

Tigers need less Fielders in the field and more fielders in the field. As brought up in the Casilla thread, Dombrowski has to be in denial at what's happening out there. It took Fielder almost 5 minutes to acknowledge that he almost ended his teammate's career, careless play, yes, but add oblivious and/or clueless- if not greviously indifferent to the description of his defensive ability.

BTW, this inning demonstrated that neither Fielder or Cabrera can see their own toes, let alone be able to touch them.

Of the Tigers games I've watched, Miggy really haven't been the abomination at 3B I thought he would be.

Agree. From what I've read, tiger fans have been pleasantly surprised. He's no gold glover, but he has made the plays he should make. I'd find a spot for him in thr twins lineup.;)

12 hits, 2 steals and 3 runs scored...Twins Baseball!

I am wondering if the Twins might break some record today in terms of fewest runs scored compared with total men on base.

  • Roy Smalley is harping about Plouffe going after high fastballs. He is absolutely right!

Yup. Ploufey seems to me to have a good eye inside/outside, but struggles with up/down. Still and all, as of today he has a higher ISO than Spansie.

I agree- too good an athlete, but that inability to tag out Mastro was Biggest Loser-chuckle-worthy champ if not for Fielder's missed tag(s) at first.

Only ahead by two when outhitting them by 10. Time to put up a screen in front of the pitchers?

I was thinking the same thing. That's worthy of a Joe Soucheray- "In my lifetime"- predictions.

This has been one wierd game.

Was just coming on to say exactly this. I know it's not over by a long shot, but I would say it's already a candidate for the season's leader for "weird" moments.

I've really enjoyed what Roy has brought to the booth this year. Very clearly a guy who, at the very least, has spent a LOT of time thinking about and studying the game (and hitting in particular).
