Tomorrow is Make Someone Else Happy Day (not the actual name, I don't think)....how are you planning to make someone else happy?

Not tomorrow, but today, I picked up my Lil' sister from the hospital with her new born baby. The dad had a doctor's appointment, and after I confirmed that I would pick them up, he followed through with that appointment... they expected to be released a lot earlier in the day.

The stupid thing of it all is that the dad took her house keys by mistake and her two teenage kids forgot their keys at their house when they left for school in the morning. My sister was locked out.

The good thing is that I live 5 minutes from the hospital, the older girls went to friend's houses, and me, my wife, and sister were able to spend some precious time with the baby.

That is my making someone else happy for the day moment, and it made my wife and me happy as well.

Geez, I am getting soft in my middle age.

I'll bake treats of some sort for the crew at work. Last night I made Swedish meatballs for me, which made me very happy last night, and for the leftover meals to come. So tonight I'll bake something for the stage crew at work. They work harder than anyone here.

And ... tonight that's just what I did. I get requests fairly often for my carrot cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting ... so, that's what I made. Man, it smells SO GOOD! :)

Btw, the actual day is called National I Want You to be Happy Day. It is observed annually on March 3 and was created as a day encouraging us to do something to make others happy. Putting a smile on someone’s face tends to put one on ours, too.

It's a breakfast type of day today!

As Chi teased, today is National Pancake Day! If you want the key to my heart, start the morning by making blueberry pancakes!

Today is also National Cereal Day! I started my morning with a bowl of Honey Nut Chex this morning... What about you?

On this day in history, a lot of blood was shed... So we'll keep it positive!

A good thing that happened was in 1876, when Alexander Graham Bell patented the first telephone! Which deserves a follow up question - who did he call first to make sure it worked?

I had to stop the burpee train, as number 27 on Sunday caused just a bit of an issue with the right Hamstring......may start again today.

As for pancakes, I used to make peanut butter pancakes most Sunday mornings, along with bacon, back when their were children in the house. I missed them, and made some a couple weekends ago. yummy.

When I know I'm going out for breakfast, I always 'crave' pancakes. But when I get to where I'm going, I always order something eggy instead. Not sure why that is. Maybe despite the cravings, I just like eggs better? Hmmm ...

But the best kind of pancakes are aebelskiver. Yes, I've talked about these delicious little Danish pancakes before. They are the best!

1) I miss Uncle Johns's. At least there's a nearby OPH now.

2) On this date in 1970; perhaps the most studied solar eclipse in history.

You flying out here for the eclipse this year? We are still trying to figure out what to do....

OPH was my favorite Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast stop after a night at the bars... 49'er Flapjacks always hit the spot.

I try to do at least five burpees after a greasy, fatty lunch, it relieves any built up pressure. Usually doesn't taste too bad the 2nd time around either.

Happy Tuesday!

Who wants to split a pizza pie? And afterwards go get a slice of pie? Then finish up a great night watching the movie "Life of Pi"?! Because it's National Pi Day!

Today is also National Potato Chip Day! As we move closer to summer, my "meals" transition more to snacks during the day... I'm testing out different dips that may be good when it's a warm summer day... The latest and greatest is a Cobb Dip... Everything you'd expect on a cobb salad with a cream cheese/sour cream/ranch foundation. Nearly ate half the bag of potato chips testing it out yesterday!

Top O' the mornin' to ya! Hope you started off your day with a shot of Jameson or some Bailey's Irish coffee! Or maybe you started off your morning searching for a pot o' gold, eating some Lucky Charms!

Either way, Happy St. Patty's Day to you all!

It's also National Corned Beef and Cabbage Day if you really want to get in the spirit of things!
