Food and other such holidays

It's my work anniversary today.... So the boss took me out for a Fat Thursday lunch....

Styles Switch BBQ was the first stop for turkey, brisket, mac & cheese, and corn casserole.

Followed up with Amy's Ice Cream for a scoop of Mexican Vanilla topped with Butterfinger.

This guy is fat and happy for the rest of the day.

I'm pretty sure the last fast food I had was Culver's a couple of month's ago, on my way back from Minneapolis, because I was hungover, in Grand Forks and starving...............and in Grand Forks.

I don't have a go to fast food place, life is too short and lunch is too precious.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! It's been a bittersweet week for me.... Found out yesterday my mentor who I've partnered up with over the last 2.5 years is leaving the company in January... Makes me think if I should follow suit.

Let's get happy!

Today is National Espresso Day! I always see that commercial with George Clooney and Danny DeVito with that espresso maker similar to a kuerig. Espresso is far down on the list of drinks I usually get in the morning.... Coffee, Cappuccino, Hot Cocoa, Tea, Espresso..

Today is also National Cashew Day! Did you know.... The shell of a cashew is toxic? How would you like to be that person who first tried a cashew, and learned if only I took it out of the shell, I wouldn't be dying right now?

Today is also National Jukebox Day! When was the last time you saw an actual juke box in a restaurant or bar? Now it's just a touch screen to select your favorite songs, or you can download the app.... I do enjoy going to a dive bar, putting $10 in that sucker and set the tone with some great tunes.

Speaking of jukeboxes, the first one debuted on this day in 1888! The Palais Royale Saloon in San Francisco was the first bar to ever have one of these machines in their establishment. It became so popular that it took over having pianos in bars.

Also, on this day in 1936, Life Magazine published their first ever issue! Well, scratch that. Life Magazine was a thing beginning in 1883 as a general interest, light entertainment magazine. Once Henry Luce bought the magazine in 1936, they became heavily picture focused.

Happy Thanksgiving!! Hope you all enjoy the day with family or friends... They say real estate is expensive in New York... Well, I'm here to argue real estate on a Thanksgiving plate is the MOST expensive you can find...

What are your top priorities to eat today?

Hope you all had a great extended weekend!

Today is Cyber Monday! What's everyone spending their hard earned money on today? As we continue to get older, the amount of things I need or desire for Xmas keeps going down...

While you're shopping on Amazon, go ahead and whip up some French Toast.... Because it's National French Toast Day! If the choice was between french toast, pancakes, or eggs, I'm choosing french toast 10 times out of 10.

Finally, on this day in 1893, the first women in the world were allowed to vote in New Zealand!

We missed this day on Saturday, but on that day in 1960, the Washington Senators move to Minnesota full-time to become the Minnesota Twins!

I already bought powerbeats2 sports wireless headphones.....only 90 dollars now that version 3 is out!

Would like to buy an acer spin, but I haven't touched one, and I want to test the keyboard before I decide on a laptop.

And, I choose peanut butter pancakes every time......

I should probably get into the laptop market since the last time I had a working one was a year or 2 post college....

Then I think to myself I've been working on a computer all day long. The last thing I want to do when I get home is use another laptop.

Nice! Speaking of nostalgic video games, is anyone interested in the NES Classic Edition they just released a few weeks ago? $60 for 30 classic Nintendo games programmed into the system.

That's basically what this was, but due to Black Friday deals, I got it for under $40 with 101 games pre-programmed. You can buy a few of the more "name" games like Donkey Kong online and add them as well. I looked into the NES, and then I found out that I can basically pay for a download of all the games on my current Wii after the first of the year, I believe it is.

Happy Tuesday? Is your wallet feeling empty this morning after Cyber Monday?

Well, get over it. It's the holidays, and today is National Day of Giving! Whether you have money, time, or items to donate, do so today! Our office is having a food drive, so I brought 2 jars of creamy and 2 jars of crunchy peanut butter, a few bags of rice, and other non-perishable food items.

Today is also National E-Greeting Cards Day! The first person to create an e-greeting card website was Judith Donath in 1994 called The Electronic Postcard. When did you send your first e-greeting card? Or do you prefer the old fashioned paper greeting card?

Finally, on this day in 1961, Enos the Chimpanzee became the first chimp to successfully orbit the Earth! Unlike our other friend Laika, the russian dog who orbited space, the US actually had a plan to bring Enos home...
