Ok, I've seen people drink Long Island Ice Tea, but wtf is it? I'll go out on a limb and guess iced tea is an ingredient.

And why is it called Long Island Ice Tea? Because it looks like it came from the East River?

Thre is no ice tea.....5 kinds of liquor, and coke, IIRC.

2 cups ice cubes
1 part vodka
1 part gin
1 part white rum
1 part white tequila
1/2 part triple sec
1/2 part sour mix

Invented in Long Island in Tennessee during prohibition, traditional Long Island Iced Tea is a drink with 5 different shots, but sometimes only 4 at a time.  Like some prefer tequila in it and some don't.  Some prefer gin in it, and some don't.  The steadies are Rum, Triple Sec and Vodka.

there are variations, of course.

Just a happy hour drink special that led the way to an evening of tequila shots ... lesson learned!

We've all been there. Then the next morning it's "I will never drink again if this sickness goes away right now." Followed up by more drinking later that day. #college

We've got some goodies for a Thursday!

Today is National Fajita Day! I love me some fajitas! One of, if not my favorite, Mexican food. Especially if you find a restaurant that makes homemade tortillas. That's when you know you've hit the jackpot.

Today is also National Ice Cream Pie Day! I assume this is similar to DQ ice cream cakes? Anything with ice cream in the title and I am game.

Also, on this day in 1920, the 19th Amendment was implemented 42 years after Congress proposed it. It was a long journey, but women were given the right to vote! #progress

I like fajitas, alas, the lack of any real Mexican community where I live makes finding good ones next to impossible. Had some good ones in Orlando this past year though, it's a treat to find real Queso cheese.

I pretty much avoided the Mexican restaurants in Ottawa ... just wasn't quite ... authentic enough.

Happy Friday!

Why don't you go celebrate a good work week by getting yourself some soft serve ice cream! Since today is National Soft Serve Ice Cream Day! I may just have to swing through the McDonald's drive thru for a cone after happy hour tonight.

Today is also National Aviation Day! Is anyone here afraid to fly?

I'll tell my worst flying story.... It was the 1999 and I was around 8-9 years old, and our family was taking a trip to Hawaii! From Minneapolis this is a good 8-9 hour flight. I've flown before and had no issues prior to this.

Our family couldn't sit all together on the plane, so I sat next to mom, my brother sat next to dad. I took the middle seat, since I was a little one. Unfortunately, the other woman sitting next to me had the foulest smelling perfume I've ever smelled. Even to this day I cringe thinking about this perfume. Within a half hour on this flight, I had a pounding headache, and started to fell sick. Well, it didn't take long for breakfast to come back up... The worst thing was this woman went to the restroom half way through the flight and re-applied this perfume!! Many barf bags were used on that flight... It's the only time I've ever gotten sick on a plane.

Boy do we have some good stuff today!

Today is National Waffle Day! That's one of the simple joys in life if a hotel you're staying at has a waffle iron. Lather that sucker up with butter and syrup, and I'm a happy guy.

Today is also National Peach Pie Day! Peach pie IMO is a vastly underrated pie flavor. And of course, always elect to go a-la-mode with any fruit flavored pie.

Finally, on this day in 1891, genius inventor Thomas Edison patents his latest invention, the Kinetographic Camera! We know them today as movie cameras! We can all thank Edison today while we record our entire lives on our phones.

LOVE peach pie. I haven't met a pie I didn't like, well, except for British meat pies. But of the dessert varieties, yum. I have a recipe for a peach almond pie. I'll have to dust that off and make it again ... it's been a while.

Waffles ... another yum. I like waffles better than pancakes. And as luck would have it there's a breakfast/lunch place a couple blocks from me called Waffles.
