Danny Valencia claimed by the Oakland Athletics, they must still think he has some run left in him. He will be excited, California kid get's to go home and play for one of his home state teams.

It's the right team for Valencia. Now he can pump iron and try to jack every pitch out of the park, just like when he was with the Twins. And he's probably no worse a 3rd baseman than the one they've got...

You don't necessarily expect to win against David Price but this offensive futility -- especially with RISP -- is getting tiresome. C'mon Molitor and Brunansky, shake it up. And get off your can Terry Ryan and call up or trade for some help.

Yes, the Angels are falling apart right now......

And it looks like CJ WIlson could be out for the rest of the year.  The Twins won't be a wild card team, but it's looking more and more like it won't be because of the Angels.

Just for giggles I looked up SO % for ABW2 and Sano. Sano sitting at 42% in MN, ABW at 41% this year, and career 31%. All numbers rounded up. I realize it's not apples to apples, but it did kind of surprise me.

The difference between these two teams is stark.

The Jays made deals to shore up flaws and their fans are excited. There is tons of baseball to play but they look like a team making a run.

The Twins sat on their hands and look like a team that is dangerously close to quitting. They couldn't even be bothered to start their highest paid player in a key series with a team they are in competition with for the playoffs. If that's not mailing it in I don't know what is.

It makes sense that there has been grumbling today and on other days like it that used to be automatic sit days for Mauer the catcher but that figured to be play days for Mauer the first baseman.

That being said, his career line against David Price is...    .176/.263/.206   in 34 AB's

One thing confuses me (ok, lots of things confuse me really); The Blue Jays have a run differential of +110. That's more than a full run for every game they've played.

How is it they're only three games above .500?

Lot's of ass kicking type wins, lots of one/two run losses.

They are better than their record but also a classic construction to underplay run differential.

They have a great offense that expands the margin against the weaker parts of opponent bullpens, and they have a weak bullpen that will result in more close losses (11-23 in 1 run games). That is some bad luck in close games but also some cluster luck in blowouts.

You missed sacrifice bunting in the third inning.......when facing one of the best offenses in the game. But ya, not one of his best outings.

According to the post game notes from the STrib, Molitor didn't want a bunt.  He wanted a ground ball.

I'm not sure which is worse, actually.

We had RISP?

Molitor is starting to show to many like Gardehire tendencies of sticking with the stale and status quo, he should be on the phone with the GM right now and saying I'm not putting up with this bullpen crapola anymore. You F'ed it up now fix it.

How many times do I have to play and use  Duensing, Boyer, et all for you to get me some help and move on from these cannon fodder guys.

IF the Twins big roster moves are to send down Polanco and Santana, than we got many more problems in River city that can meet the eye.

I am fairly sure Molitor was always the manager in waiting, I think Gardy thought so. So the following is likely a figment of my vivd imagination, OR NOT. :). But is it possible that one of the reasons that Dougy Baseball did not get the job was because he would not take this roster lying down? And TR did not want to deal with that kind of insolence? The nation has not had a good conspiracy theory in a couple weeks, I think this one could catch on! :)
