I concur. I've said elsewhere that maybe we should send Blackburn back down - he still has an option left and has not yet reached the 5-year mark.

Are you certain that he has an option left? I thought that some people replied that he does not.

DeVries is not a premium pitcher, but he seems to have better stuff at this point than Blackburn, and it would seem appropriate to let him fill a starter slot to see what he can accomplish.

When ya got no sausage throw in a hot dog i guess

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he did, but I could be mistaken.

If not, then maybe another stint on the DL would be possible. He sure pitches like he is injured in some fashion.

This is easily DeVries' best start of the year - good to see him break through. You wonder, though, if his night is done. This is the longest he's gone into a game in the majors, and maybe it's time to turn it over to the bullpen, which is rested.

Honestly, does it really matter if he has an option at this point? If you have someone else waiting for a shot, I think it's past the point where you worry about losing Blackburn.

I think it does matter. If Blackburn can recover his sinkerball mojo, then he can again be a very good starter. It would be sickening to release him then watch him go to the Yankees or White Sox and do well while the Twins are still paying him. I would rather try to send him down, or failing that, persuade him to go on the DL. Maybe the training staff can be asked to help him by bleeding him with leeches, in which case he might legitimately need to go on the DL.

For no good reason - I am liking the Millers throw-back jerseys. I get the fact that they share the same colors as the NY/SF Giants as they were their top minor league affiliate in the 40's and 50's. But I like the way the white, orange, and black work together. The "M" logo is boring and lacking of creativity. It would be cool to see the twins throw together a new uniform look using these colors even though it would be ripping off the G-Men.

After Blackburn inevitably tanks his next start, I think it is time to give Cole a shot. Nothing to lose, really.

In a perfect -- scratch that -- ahem, in a better world you would be correct, but with Blackburn's contract and no room in the pen, he stays, and stays, and stays....

So it landed foul then went fair due to the spin? I don't remember ever seeing that. Thanks for sharing.

It was even more bizarre than that description, I think. The thing took a path much like a pool trick shot where they put the english on it so it bends around in an arc. The ball did the same thing on this play. It nearly went out the back of the left handed batter's box, heading toward the backstop before reversing course and curving first toward the Twins dugout and then continuing the turn all the way back into fair territory. Isaac Newton rolled over in his grave.

Yeah, just watch the video. It's insane. I was in the Legend's Club at the time and was in hysterical laughter. I've never seen anything like it before (well, I have but nothing even close to the extreme foul/fair spin taken by that ball) and most of the Legend's Club was confused as to whether Dozier was safe, out, or still at bat.
