Schafer was hurt? OK...

There have been comments for weeks about that ... his knee, his toe, his foot ... or some such, as to why he's been unable to steel as much.

Will save Rosario for a while.  Expect Shaffer will be DFA'ed if Hicks continues to hit.  Expect then that Rosario will go back to Rochester when Arcia comes off the DL.  At least we have a great defense outfield for the late innings in Rosario, Hicks and Robinson.

I think I believe that the players currently disabled do indeed have injuries, but I notice that the players performing least well seem to be the ones who have wound up on the DL. I suppose their poor performances could be because of injuries, but the coincidence just seems curious.

So Jordan Schafer finally goes on the DL after almost a week of not playing, and almost 2-3 weeks after actually injuring his knee.  Does this suggest that the Twins perhaps have not yet turned over a new leaf in regards to prompt DL moves?  Not that it really hurt us in this case.

I think the prompt DL moves so far this season have mostly been the result of improved depth and/or shortened leashes (i.e. Nolasco).

Well if we were going to replace him with an outfielder, the only outfielder, i believe, on the 40 man that isnt hurt or playing is Kepler, and only one position player in AAA on 40 man(Pinto)

I just assumed it was because he couldn't get on base.

The team really seems to be dragging this inevitable conclusion out. I don't think there is any scenario outside of multiple OF 60-Day DL situations that doesn't end with a Schafer DFA. I'm sure he sees it coming too. The team isn't getting anything for him, just pull the band aid now and let him try to latch on somewhere else.
