Article: Aaron Hicks Promoted, Who's Next?

Recommended Posts

Hey Seth...

I nearly went apoplectic when I saw TREVOR HILDENBERGER was a second round pick last year! After I regained consciousness, I realized you probably meant twenty second round!

Thanks for all your hard work keeping us informed!

As of sometime last night, my laptop suddenly wouldn't let me type a key twice in a row. In other words, I probably types 22nd and all that came out was 2nd. Imagine how frustrating that is! There are a lot of words that have consecutive letters (like letters). That includes the delete button, so I have to get creative if I type something wrong. I'm thinking a restart would be good.

Vavra has had some succes, Kuresa not as much, so far. All things being equal, you typically see the early promotions coming from the group of guys who returned to the MWL to start the year after spending a fair amount of time here the prior season. Thus, my sense that Murphy and Larson would head the list of possible promotions among position players. They were both off to slow starts, though, so they'll need more than a couple weeks of hot hitting to really earn promotions.

Of course, injuries at any level create opportunities borne of need, rather than performance, so you never know.

Vavra has just been so consistent this season. His average hasn't really been below about .280 all year and it's been up to about .340, with good approach at the plate and some doubles/homers.

Larson and Murphy have been good for a week. I think they need another month, which puts us to that mid-June timeline when we start seeing some changes.

Just like last year, he had no control right out of the gate. It's getting fixed. I don't think either one is going to be with the Twins anytime soon, though, no.

21 strikes, 19 balls, 2 doubles and a walk-  40 pitches in two innings of work on Sunday, at the tail end of mopping up a 16-3 blowout.  I think there's a good chance the fix is going to take a little while longer.
