Something to consider, I imagine, when we discuss the HR numbers of various Lookout hitters. Looking at their road/home HR splits is something we should probably do.

Thanks for posting the photo, JC.  It reminded me that I had forgotten to announce that I added a series of Game Day Photos to my opening post from the Twins official photographer, who just happened to be in attendance on Sunday.  Worth a second look back at Post #1 and also at his official website.

Regarding the splits, yep, definitely might shed some light.  Here's what the key hitters have done in the month of May, 9 out of 10 games were played at home:

Buxton-  BA .326 OPS 1.031

Polanco-  BA .419 OPS 1.117

Sano-        BA  .306 OPS .920

Harrison-  BA  .310  OPS  1.014

Walker-  BA  .275  OPS .943

Kepler-  BA  .314  OPS  .808

Turner-  BA  .250  OPS  .858

Meneses-  BA .353 OPS .860

Hard to beat a team with 8 guys in the lineup raking at these levels.

I posted this in the Harrison 2015 thread but I should probably point it out here as well.  The Lookout hitters are young.  B-Ref lists 24 players in the Southern League at 22 or younger.  Five of them play for Chattanooga.  (Buxton, Sano, Harrison, Polanco and Kepler).  They also have 3 pitchers 22 or younger (Berrios, Burdi and Reed).  And B-Ref only lists 10 pitchers 22 or younger in the SL.  That's pretty good.  So a third of the 22 or younger talent in the Southern League is in Chattanooga.  And all 8 of those guys are legit prospects.  Burdi is probably the one struggling the most.

Jorge Polanco-     He appears major league ready at the plate.

Miguel Sano-  My recommendation is to watch Sano very closely in the month of May- it appears he could break out at any moment.

Byron Buxton is in a bad-BABIP-related, 2-25 week in 6 games in Birmingham this week, but Jorge Polanco and Miguel Sano are continuing their May Southern League dominance, helping to lead visiting Chattanooga to taking 5 out of 6 games against the Barons.

Batting third in the lineup, Sano hit 2 HR tonight, plus a single, including the eventual 2-run game-winner in the top of the 10th.  This gives him 4 HR in May, and 8 on the year.  For the month, Sano is now hitting .315 with a 1.005 OPS, helping to render his feeble April line of .159 BA/.684 OPS as an increasingly distant memory. With hot-hitting Kepler, Harrison and Walker behind him and Buxton and Polanco directly in front him, look for Sano to extend this offensive breakout.

Speaking of Polanco, he is now back in the 2-hole in the batting order, tonight getting 3 hits, 2 runs scored and his second SB of the week (7 on the season).  For the month of May, Polanco is now batting .365 with an OPS of .923.
