We do have what appear to be some dandy races this year: KC and Detroit while the Dodgers, Padres and Giants all vie to win the NL West with 87 games in the win column.

 

I'm hoping the Twins are in the mix, but, no matter what, it looks like a great year for baseball.

When I lived in Ohio, I enjoyed occasional games at Cleveland's old Memorial Stadium. The last time there, as I rolled through town, a little kid wound up and threw a perfect strike with a good-sized rock through my open car window that whizzed past my ear and came to rest on the passenger seat (unoccupied). I sometimes wonder whatever became of him. He looked a little like Pierzynski.
