Ownership wants a winning team that brings in revenue. If Nolasco is holding the Twins back, TR has no choice but to move on.

 

 

Oh, but he does....  (just look at the track record with struggling SPs, TR has given out enough rope to encircle the globe).

True, but this situation is a little different in that he might run out of rotation spots to fill with underachieving veterans.

At which point (which is admittedly imminent), he's bound to rank order his options based on contract $$$ owed and years remaining on said contract.

Who does Santana replace after 80 games? 

I don't think that's going to be an issue considering how shaky some of the current rotation members look.  I wouldn't be surprised if the Twins are cycling through the AAAA equivalents of Albers, Johnson and Pino by then due to injuries or ineffectiveness.

Well if May's start today is any indication of how his next couple of starts go, you have your answer.  May to AAA.
