Thanks for the information on the age factor with regard to call ups, Seth and Jokin. I had no idea that this was considered! Maybe some of us will understand this when we complain about prospects advancing!

I would not put Hu in that company, he is in the Tyler Duffey prospect category...

What's wrong with Duffey for that matter?

Mid 90's fastball, good curve, by all reports improving change and good command.  I'd put Berrios in a category of his own, but Gonsalves, Hu, and Duffey are all vying for top 10 prospect status in my eyes.

The six major ranking publications disagreed with you during the off-season. Most regarded Hu in more similar light to Gonsalves than Duffey. Only one publication (MLB) ranked Duffey at all, while Hu was mentioned by four of the six. Keith Law actually ranked Hu a couple of slots higher than Gonsalves while not mentioning Duffey at all.

Given the performances we're seeing from all four, I think we can predict that Berrios will continue to be viewed as a more elite prospect than the other three.

To make room for Tyler Duffey on the Red Wings roster, the team released 1B/DH Brock Peterson.

Doesn't this eventually make room for Kepler or Sano, should Vargas be recalled by the Twins in the short-to-intermediate-term?

Eh, not really. I mean, maybe in 2 months, but not anytime soon.

OK, then let's work backwards from the other direction, with Peterson cut, should Vargas be recalled in the short-term (and since he's already hit 2 HR in his first two ABs today, I think he's making the case for a short-term assignment),

who is the most likely to get the call to Rochester when Vargas is recalled.... Gonzalez or Rodriguez?  ("good soldier award")

I would assume someone will be sent down from MLB to make room for him.

Also, the Red Wings have about 4 other corner infield options now, even without Peterson.

Calling up Sano, Kepler is about them being ready for the not, regardless of what's happening above them.

I'm searching for likely names.  I'm assuming that Pinto eventually would exchange places with Hermann, after that... Rosario?  But that presumably would be Schafer that supplants him....  Any others I've overlooked?

13 pitchers is probably a temporary situation, though Arcia will be back soon too.

Yep.  That's exactly who I think is going to supplant the 13th pitcher.... which creates yet another roster crunch in Rochester.  It seems more guys are going to have a meeting with the axe, or we are heading into a full-fledged "blocking" topic in the month of June.

A few days ago Jeremy said that he'd like to see it, and today it happened.  J.T. Chargois is promoted to Chattanooga.  That's a lot of power arms in that bullpen!  To make room for him, Dallas Gallant is sent down to the Miracle.

That's awesome news. Will be at Lookouts game this Sunday, hopefully I'll get to see him. My perfect game will be Berrios or Baxendale starting. Then;

7th, Chargois, firing 99 mph

8th, Burdi, firing 100 mph

9th Jones, firing 99 mph

How's that for a day at the Ballpark. Oh, and how about Sano blast that leaves the stadium and Buxton shooting triples all day. With all that fireworks and heat coming at me, may have to put ice in my beer.

Reed is no slouch, topping out at about 98. DJ Johnson hits 95.

We may not yet know where the dominos are falling UP the food chain from Gonsalves, but now we apparently know who his replacement with the Kernels will be, thanks to Dereck Rodriguez' Tweet. (I'm going to assume he's "exCited")

Dereck Rodriguez
@DereckrodRF3

Just arrived at ATL!! Next stop Cedar Rapids!!! #exited #Kernels #MiLB

Rodriguez is a bullpen arm though... I wonder who would take Gonsalves's spot in the rotation. I suppose Luke Bard could do that.

John Curtiss is due to come off the DL today or tomorrow, I think. Have to wonder if Rodriguez is actually the replacement for a guy like Hildenberger, who should have been promoted by now. Maybe when Curtiss comes off DL, Hildenberger finally gets his plane ticket to FL?

Other thought I had is that maybe Eades or a reliever is the 2nd SP to be ticketed for Chatt. Eades is starting tonight. Which would mean that they would need to wait until after that game to announce Gonsalves replacing Eades or a reliever on the roster.

Glad to see Lee getting promoted.

Maybe Wilson is needed to start right away. Gonsalves doesn't have to pitch again for 4-5 days. No rush in adding him to their roster.

Also, Wilson very deserving as well.

Yes, Wilson is deserving.

And Lee was scheduled to start Wednesday. Lee not until Thursday, but with the off day today, he could be pushed up to Tuesday for FtM.

Guess the question is whether they would just send Wilson up to FtM for one start. Would be pretty unusual. Miracle usually just bring someone over from EST if they need a stopgap of some kind.
