First inning fast ball hanging in high 80s, touched 92. Off speed stuff dropping to 70. Has the batters a little off balance though he walked one

Gonsalves pitched 7 innings and struck out 10 giving up just one run. His hardest fastball was 93 but his Off speed stuff was all over the radar gun. He made some hitters look really silly. Now 1-1 in the eighth.

To be honest I couldn't tell what all the different pitches Gonsalves was throwing but it was some nasty stuff. Rarely were there two pitches in a row within 10 MPH of eachother until the 7th when he threw 91,91,93 back to back to back. There was one Peoria guy that was tied in knots two pitches in a row. I laughed so loud he heard and my wife told me to quiet down...

I hoped to see Nick Gordan do something cool and he had a nice long at bat in the first but that was it wth the bat. In the field he made everything look routine which is what you want to see.

I have read about the speed of Zach Granite. His steal of second base was all speed. Good pitch, catch and perfect throw to second but Zach (barely) beat it out.

Trey Vavra pinch hit and knocked one deep for the "play of the game" according to the stadium announcer and that was the game! Zack Tillery came in and shut the door for the official win but the night really did belong to Gonsalves!

Next game tell her to liven up instead.

/ I can swear from experience that this technique. Will. Not. Work.

She was the rowdy "mom" type for all the "kids" on the field. She just didn't want anyone to feel bad on either team.

One thing to note... they have the radar gun (used for the scoreboard) up high by the press box. It shows 2 mph slower than the radar gun that the pitchers who are scouting pitches down on the field have. So, 88 mph on the scoreboard is likely 90. 91 on the scoreboard is likely 93, etc.

Regarding Gonsalves, teammates and others were so impressed with his advanced knowledge of pitching, mechanics, but also situations, etc.
