Well technically they predict the Twins to improve as they don't give them 90 losses, but...

"With no great teams and only one franchise not really trying to contend this year,"

Zing!

"Unfortunately, the Twins have spent nearly every other position on the field not making similar bets, so instead of high-upside gambles, Hughes and Dozier are surrounded by aging mediocrities like Ervin Santana, Ricky Nolasco, Torii Hunter, and Kurt Suzuki."

Double zing!

"Minnesota probably should have taken some more fliers on upside plays rather than trying to limit their downside potential"

Yowza!

"The resulting combination is a team that will not be good nor likely very interesting"

Burn!

I think they are using ZiPS projections in this .  I know that when talking with Dave Cameron AND the guy who creates ZiPS, Dan Szymborski, they both actually said they didn't personally predict that the Twins would win that many, though they wouldn't be surprised if they did.

The good thing is that every team has some warts. Tigers are old. Detroit's bullpen might actually be less interesting than ours. Royals are trading down in a few spots. Whities are top heavy. Cleveland is pretty balanced and deep although a few of their guys have some pretty short track records.

I think Cleveland will win it, possibly by a landslide, with everyone else jumbled together within about 12 games of each other.
