I'll be here for the next eleven minutes to answer any questions you may have regarding this projection. After that the Jets game is on and I won't be available/not care to answer any of your mundane quibbles with my analysis.

In order for the Twins to go 0-162, everything would have to go completely wrong. In your opinion, which is the least likely to go wrong?

Never mind...it's been 13 minutes. Thanks anyway - good talk.

TC Bear is kinda enjoyable.

Not to quibble with your analysis, but TC Bear is a candidate to regress, don't you think?

Take care now. Good talk.

TC Bear and the rally cap would really need to regress for this to play out.

I'll add to the prediction though...  After locking up the number one pick in the draft, no true standouts were available at that selection.

Think of the pressure of being the opposing pitcher who started game 162 against theTwins? What an atmosphere. The stands packed, Dick and Bert explaining that it's just a matter of time until the boys break out of their slump. And of course the requisite questions about whether Molly will return, the assurances that the Pohlads have pledged to spend whatever is necessary to improve the team next year, and the belief that if anyone can do it, it's the Twins FO! Sids column will bemoan the fact that the team suffered from a lot of bad luck this year, up to and including not one game rained out and not rescheduled. While the teams ERA stands at a league low of 6.14, we will be assured that these are veteran pitchers who know what it will take in the off season to get things back on track! While there were still some random murmurs amongst fans wondering if and when the team was going to promote Buxton, Sano, Meyer, Berrios, and May, most fans stood firmly by the team, confident that with a few more years experience the current roster would make a playoff run in the very near future!

You sure used a lot of words to not ask a question. Refill time!

I would never be so rude as to question your projection! Whoops, there I go again, yet another non question! :)

Good move. Posts like the original one are what make Twins Daily the New York Yankees of Twins related websites.

Enjoying the Coyotes this year? Lolololololololololol

Hey, we're supposed to ask the questions!

Anywhooo...I only live in Arizona. My sports fandom is not so fickle as to follow the locals just because I have nearly 20 years here in total. Besides...that's PHOENIX. We here in Tucson suffer from a massive inferiority complex about all that. Sort of like St Paulians.

Damn -- the time is up -- I was going to ask if they will then fire Molitlor, Ryan and crew -- and rehire Gardy, Anderson, and reestablish Smith as GM.   I am assuming much of the blame will be on Mauer for having no fire, and if the record would have been even worse than 0-162 if had not it been for the great clubhouse leadership and chemistry brought by Torii -- who undoubtedly will have an extension offer.  At least we will get a decent draft pick.

Hopefully we will at least get a couple of good game threads out of this.

You do realize...don't you...that TC Bear regressing would make him  CUB.

"T"he "C"hicago Cubs.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse!

OK....so I DO have a question.

Should the Twins and...oh...some other team....both lose 162, would the Twins be forced to play a 163rd game? You know, for the record and posterity.

And is Nick Blackburn available for the SP assignment?

And is Nick Blackburn available for the SP assignment?

I was listening to Mackey and Judd for a bit this morning, and Phil pulled out a column that he wrote at the end of spring training (2012?) about how he did not think Blackburn's great spring training was a mirage and how his strike rate was comparable to Liarano -- how he figured something out.  Then Blackburn did not even finish out the year in the majors.  He said he was not sure how he was not fired after that column.

He also pulled out a column he wrote at the end of the 2011 spring training how the question was not if they would make the play-offs, but if they could finally get past the first round.  It ended up not being an issue.  I give him credit for going out of the way to mock himself.

Just for sake of argument, let's say the Twins start out 0-for April & May. At that point in the season, if not sooner, roster changes would have been made by the front office. Many if not all of the prospects would have been called up and the current roster would have been shipped off, cut or DL'd.

If the projected 0-162 record happens, that means all the coveted prospects that everyone is waiting for would be just as bad or worse than current roster.

Congratulations, even a team filled with waiver claims could accidentally win a couple of games. You may have just proven that the Twins prospects are horribly inept and should not be promoted to the majors.
