Twins Let Gary Lucas Go

Total surprise to me and one I'm not pleased with.  Luke, I thought, had done a fine job.  He really got along well with his players and they seemed to excel under him.  He is a hard worker and loved what he did.  I just don't get this.  Plus, he's really a good guy.  I expected the first to go in the minors would have been Jeff Smith.  I hope Terry answers this question, and it best have some reasoning behind it.

Luke wants to be close to home and his family.  Has been the way for the past 10+ years!!!  In my opinion i think its ridiculous that the club should cater to this whim.  Either move on or move out!

Every year he has asked to be assigned to the midwest league team for this reason.  He did have ambitions of being a big league pitching coach and will need to move out of the midwest league for this to happen.

Seth, If you had to rank the most important pitching coaches LEFT in the Twins org.

who would they be?

1) Bob Cuellar

2) Niel Allen

3) Steven Mintz Marty Mason?

4) Gary Lucas Ivan Artega ?

5)  NA  ?

Is that essentially, all we have left?

I'm sure MR. Smith is one of the coaches i like a lot but he's a manager now....are there any good talents in the rookie ball levels that teach this aspect of the game?  pitching

Also Just realized Henry Bonilla is going to be the pitching coach in Iowa for the Twins.

Bobby Cuellar's not around the Twins anymore.

Neil Allen sets the tone for the whole organization, and he meets with minor league pitching coordinator Erik Rasmussen to discuss philosophies and ideas.

Then it's about the prospects and each pitching coach can bring something to the table.
