You can log in using your Twins Daily credentials. Be sure to check out the articles published by MinnCentric's new Vikings team: Bo Mitchell, AJ Mansour, Arif Hasan, and Joe Oberle. They're all accomplished writers and will bring the same kind of coverage you get from Twins Daily to the Vikings world.

Yep, yep, and yep. We wanted account integration and easy crossover between the sites but we didn't want it to feel as if they're one giant site with blurred lines.

Great news, big Vikings fan clearly.  Baseball's my first love but I still love my football.

 

It seems to me that baseball forums (even this one!) are always much more civilized and grammaticly pleasing than football forums, so I'm guessing the moderators will have their hands full!

 

I can't wait to check it out but I hope it has the same quality contributors we have here.  Here's hoping the posters are similar to this site, as in they state opinions with supporting justifications and the posts aren't lacking capitalization and puncuation.

This is outstanding news because Twins Daily is the best thing that's happened to the Minnesota online sports scene in a long time. I appreciate the content and the moderation. Kudos to all responsible.

Do me a favor and play guinea pig... Use your Twins Daily account to log into Vikings Journal. Go to your profile on Vikings Journal and change your display name. See if it also changes on Twins Daily.

yep - tested it anyway and changing my username on VJ changes it on TD as well.

I have to admit, I'm pretty excited about Vikings Journal. I really believe we have four really strong writers, and then I know a few people will start "blogs" and find their way to the front page at times too. I'm a bit concerned about the forums, but we'll have moderators and they'll do wonderful!

Similar rules will apply to Vikings Journal. If we suffer decreased traffic just to hold the torch as "the sole provider of reasoned Vikings discussion", so be it. We're prepared to challenge fans and commenters to act like adults and given the response to it on Twins Daily, we think it'll work out just fine in the long run.

 

RubeChat already exists. I say it's time for something different and in my opinion, better.

Very grateful for a website for the Vikings that will, hopefully, provide the type of community that TD has for us passionate Twins fans. (Actually been hoping/dreaming of such a companion site)

 

I believe I have successfully got myself joined to VJ, but haven't had time to play yet or investigate it properly. Planning on still being DocBauer, it's just me. Lol

 

Question though, if anyone knows, do our avatars continue over to the new site? Or are we able to create a Vikings specific avatar over there even while keeping our same account name?

Right now, all profile information past your login and password is NOT carried over to the Vikings site. We've had some discussions about it and never reached a consensus. I think we'll let the users figure it out. If the majority of you want universal profiles, we can make that happen (probably). It'll take some creative coding on my part, though. The system isn't really built to do that but I'm sure I can make it work (sooner or later).
