Red Wings no-hit Bulls!

OK, it was a weird kind of no-hitter but still goes in the books as such.  Last week, I was in Louisville for work and got to see the Wings lose to the Bats.  Now I'm in Rochester for a week of work and popped in to Frontier Field for tonite's "doubleheader".  The July 24th game at Durham had been suspended after 3 innings and today was the continuation.  Logan Darnell faced the minimum in his 6 innings of work (1 walk, erased on a game-ending double play) to finish off the no-hitter that Trevor May started back on the 24th.  I only got to see the final 6 outs but it was still pretty cool to see that happen.

In the nightcap, Colabello ripped a dinger around the foul pole in left and Pinto got lucky with a 2-run triple (centerfielder got turned all kinds of around while going back on the ball) to get a 5-4 win.  Vasquez made his Rochester debut and I thought he looked good, not impressive, for 4 innings.  Then he got into trouble in the 5th, got a talking-to from the pitching coach, and then on the next pitch, laid a fat meatball that Wil Myers deposited in the parking lot for a grand slam.  But the guy that impressed me was Oliveros.  He pitched the final 2 innings and wow, was he bringing it.  Hit mid 90's a number of times.  That's a nice fireballer to have in the bullpen.  He had pretty forgettable stints with the big club in '11 & '12 but he certainly had some pop on the fastball tonite.

Hopefully, I can catch another game or two this week as long as work and/or predicted storms don't get in the way.
