A's Interested In Sam Fuld?

That's intriguing. Sam has certainly been valuable to the Twins, especially of late (159 WRC+ in July). I'd be alright with the Twins keeping him around as the 4th OF next year, but if the A's are interested, it certainly wouldn't hurt to listen.

The As waived him in April.  He hasn't suddenly become someone they will give up much to get back.  And IMO we kind of need him to limp through the rest of the season in CF, moreso than a prospect whose upside is utility infielder or bullpen member.

His numbers look real good for a Fourth outfielder.  He has 12 stolen bases, his OBP is good.  For the right price he is a good depth pickup.  Leave it to the A's to see the value.

I'm not saying you trade him just to trade him but if you can get a remotely interesting prospect you make that deal. He's a 32 year old journeyman 4th outfielder having one of the best seasons of his career. I don't see his value ever being much higher and I don't see him having a place on the next good Twins team.

Of course you trade him and see if you can even get a C-/D+ prospect. He'll be DFAd after the season and you can pick him up then.

He might even be DFA'd before the end of the season if Crisp comes back relatively quickly.  I don't really see why the Twins wouldn't trade him.

Just looked at the A's 40 man roster and I have a hard time to see how Fuld fits in.  They got 5 OFs already.  I'd have no problem if the Twins traded him to them straight for Billy Burns.

Since Burns was called up to replace Gentry I doubt that this would be a trade that would be made. Most anybody should like that trade for the Twins

Is it just me or are the twins rumors all very boring?

By this I mean that most trade rumors are more about other teams approaching the Twins, and not about the Twins working on marketing their best trade chips. Example: I just read on Trade Rumors that the Rays think they could get Oscar Taveras, Shelby Miller, and a comp pick for Price. Now that is an interesting rumor. Also, the Red Sox are selling, and suddenly they are all over the place marketing their chips. The equivalent for the Twins is, I guess, if they were trying to see what Perkins would land. But I can't even conceive of them trading Perkins, let alone seeing what the market would bear. Honestly, even Fuld, who it turns out is mildly interesting as a tradeable asset...would the Twins' brass be considering trading him if there wasn't somebody asking after him?

So you suggest the Twins trade someone that no other team wants?

I think the Twins rumors are boring because most of the players are boring.

I think Ryan said the opposite on Inside Twins last Sunday. He talked about how he had to approach the other teams in his position as a seller. It could be that the Twins don't use the press as much to plant trade rumors and we only hear rumors from the other perspective.

Occam's Razor. I think you're right.

What's the over/under on how long it takes for one of the GMs to fall asleep during trade negotiations for Sam Fuld?

There is an ever so slight difference a David Price makes on your roster would make than say Correa (like 10-15 wins) so what you can do is very different. If a team has a major piece to sell, they can market it. If you need something to round out your last bullpen slot, last guy on your bench, you might call the Twins.
