Depressing, no?

Soooo...we're NOT on pace for last year's record. That's good, right?

Not really, honestly. This team is so much more structurally sound than the 2013 squad that I will enjoy watching them play the second half of the season.

Worst case scenario, they fall out of contention and trade a bunch of pieces. That paves the way for May, Meyer, and possibly Rosario to see action in Minnesota.

Either way, it's better than last season.

No. There is a lot more reason to be optimistic this season and if you watch the games and follow the prospects its easy to see why. There is a lot more stability with this club and unlike last year there are plenty of options in AAA to replace injured or ineffective pitchers.

Ask the fans in Detroit how they like their team right now. Verlander gave up 7 runs yesterday, Scherzer 10 today. Baseball is a funny game. We all get to high during a nice winning streak, and bummed out when we're losing. I agree with Brock's post, though. There is reason for optimism with this group of players: Santana, Dozier, Morales, Hughes, Gibson, and Perkins. And plenty of nice options in Rochester and New Briton.
