Game 24 - Twins @ Angels - 5/2/12

Hitting isn't this team's biggest problem.

I agree, but if your team is in the process of being shut out for the second night in a row, and hitting is not the biggest problem, then you are really in trouble

Adjacent, that is the best statement ever posted on Twinsdaily.

Yes, deep trouble. They are at least middle of the pack in most offensive categories. ROCK-BOTTOM in most pitching categories. Not even close as to what the biggest hole is...

Remember back when the Twins scored runs late (2009, 20010), so that even on the rare occasion that we'd find ourselves down 6 in the 4th, there was the expectation that we'd at least end up making it a close game? Ah, those were the days.

Liam Hendricks....Twins top pitching prospect.

How does that make you feel?

Pretty good actually, because he's still just that, a prospect. He shouldn't be here and this is what happens when you rush prospects. He still has a lot of upside.

Assuming the Angels hold on (i.e., absent divine intervention) there will be 17 teams with at least as many road wins as the Twins have wins.

Depressing. I wasn't expecting miracles this year, but I honestly thought this team was better than last year, and certainly capable of playing better than .250 baseball.

Oh well, maybe it's a blessing in disguise that we'll probably be out of it by Mother's Day. Now the front office won't be laboring under the illusion that we're 1 or 2 players away from competing this year.

Barring a major turnaround, I'm thinking fire sale at the deadline, major overhaul in the offseason.

The bottom 4 guys in this lineup couldn't get jobs for most AAA teams. Carroll, at age 38, should'e retired last year and does not deserve more than 2 starts a week.

omg ...Carroll might not swing a big bat but he is straight up money with the leather ....990% fielding pct.

Ridiculous. What upside? He might someday be a servicable back of the rotataion starter, if everything goes right?

Just when you're convinced this team can go no lower...they put their back into it and dig the trench down another foot or two.

He's 23 years old and can throw 5 different pitches, he can be a solid #4 guy, give him time. I'd also mention I don't believe he's our top prospect, I think that still goes to Gibson. As far as ridiculous goes, think what you like, you're entitled, people who live in glass houses though................

Good Lord is this depressing. A starting rotation that would get lit up by a lot of Division 3 college teams. A lineup the features at least 3 automatic outs every night. A closer that can't close and a defense full of guys playing out of position.

Talk about a recipe for disaster. It's like watching a troop of drunken baboons trying to hump a doorknob.
