How do you measure success?

Recommended Posts

I think that what I've learned about Terry Ryan is that he just doesn't see the advantage of hiring high ceiling guys.

No one would suggest that Nolasco has greater potential than Kazmir. But we didn't offer Kazmir a contract (not that I ever heard rumored). And Kazmir signed a 2-year contract for less than Nolasco's average per year.

The Pohlads held his feet to the fire and told him to improve the team. He went out and hired career average arms (except that they are older now).

For this I give him a D.

In general I would give him a C-, and I feel that is generous.

Yes we've had some good years, but take Santana off the roster and you probably have very little one might call successful.
