There is always talk of when Gardy should go.  I'm no fan of Gardy.  Never have been, never will be.  But I was once a fan of Terry Ryan.  No more.  The continued mismanagement of the 40-man roster.  The depressing group think of the front office.  I've really had enough.  I cannot believe that in all other business interests the Pohlad's have, that they would accept the level of atrociousness we have sunk to.  What GM, what front office, what manager and coaching staff could reasonably hope to have their jobs after FOUR...yes FOUR consecutive 90-plus loss seasons.  It's the 8th wonder of the world. 

At this point in their careers with the Twins to demote either  Deduno and Swarzak at any point this season would have been pointless.  Swarzak is the long guy. He does the role adequately. If he was a better pitcher, he wouldn't be the long guy. His value is that I don't think just anybody is suited to that role, yet you need somebody in the pen who can do that role. Deduno came in the last game and made a bad situation worse.

In terms of the bullpen only Perkins and Fien would be locks to come back next year. Pressly is making a good case to stay. Duensing and Swarzak are arb eligible. Duensing at 2 mil  and Swarzak at 1 mil may be high for what they have done and the Twins will go another direction . If they do, that leaves 1-4 spots depending on the starters. After the AAA season ends Ibarra, Tonkin and Pryor will be up for their auditions. I would suspect Achter, who is not on the 40 man, would be up only if someone in the pen gets dfad.

I was clamoring to see Parmelee early in the season, but with the extended look this season, we've seen more of the same in his prior short stints. I'm afraid with his options situation, TR has been painted into a corner again. Hammer coming off the books will help, but I don't see much in the way of help behind him.

Parmelee has a .421 BIBIP and a .361 OBP against lefties. Not so good against righties, though. His 99 OPS+ is basically league average. His K rate was 24.3% last year and is down to 21.2% this year. He has much improved from last year.

I think Parm stays in the majors for a while now. Unless they sign a couple free agents, the Twins will probably need him next year. If they were to DFA him, I'm pretty confident a team or two would claim him.

it's higher than his 84 ops + last year. However a .714 ops for a starting left fielder isn't something I'm excited about.

It doesn't excite me much either. IMO, the Twins MUST find an OF bat somehow. FA class in OF is mediocre, so it may come via trade if they peruse a bat, which is desperately needed, as our minor league talent in AAA is minimal unless Hicks magically turns it around.
