Well, not to defend every choice Gardenhire makes but given that there weren't any other real choices, what is the manager to do? Escobar has had a really good run hitting and he is a competent fielder, he should be the regular at shortstop whether he has a long leash is another question. There are no real backups for a guy hitting under .200, so Santana has gotten two starts in center field. I don't think the three weeks Santana has spent in the majors will ruin his development. Unfortunately, the manager's options were really limited.

Welcome to the dark side, jjswol......

We can debate early injuries and Bartlett's retirement and such, but a narrow question for you, stringer bell, or whoever else comes along and cares to answer-- do you feel Gardy's outfield options were limited yesterday with Santana and Nunez in the outfield and Hicks and Kubel on the bench.
