Twins Top Prospects

Here are my rankings for the players in the Twins minor league system. Talent and positional value are the biggest factors, while age and league are minor factors. In addition, draft position and size also have some impact. Normally I'd like to use 50, but after 35 I didn't think there were enough worthy of even being considered a prospect. Recently departed Joe Benson is off and so is Aaron Hicks after reaching the 130 AB benchmark. Hope you enjoy and possibly learn a new name!

Pretty good list. I might not alter too much from your top 20, actually. I don't know about Mejia yet. I am not dropping Herrmann that far either. Hudson Boyd probably needs to move to the bullpen.

Thanks. I feel bad for just throwing this out there with no analysis, but to do so for 30+ players is tedious. One thing about Mejia though, he's very young for Ft. Myers and is hitting the ball well. Not very toolsy though. As for Herrmann, he's getting old and I think Pinto has surpassed him as the potential #2 catcher for us. He's not hitting, but I'll admit I was pretty abrupt when moving him down. Although, I was never too high on him to begin with.

Also want to say that I think Lester Oliveros' and Madison Boer's careers are on the brink of extinction.

I would completely disagree with this. Oliver's throws gas. He's coming off of the Tommy John, May get into games later this year. Definitely not a guy to give up on!

Boer was just a 2nd round pick a couple years ago. Sure, he's struggled as a starter. He can move to the bullpen. His current injury (off field) certainly doesn't help, but way too early to give up on him.

If you are down on Oliveres, why did you not drop Wimmers from the list. A probable pitch to contact guy in the majors with TJ surgery does not seem to be a good risk.

So about Mejia . . . yeah he is doing very well so far. It's a weird thing. They just shifted him over from GCL to Fort Myers out of need at the end of last season. Then he is in EST and goes straight to Fort Myers again? I don't know how to gauge that. He is someone to watch and I might just start a thread on him.

And P.S. I am going to do the same today with no analysis. It's a pre-draft necessity to get prospect lists out and then a post-draft necessity to add in the picks.
