Data: Marwin May Have Cheated Most In '17

Twins Video

According to Twitter user Tony Adams, Marwin Gonzalez may have cheated more than any other player in 2017. He watched every Astros game he could find video on, then compiled the number of times he heard the ol' garbage can bang per player.

Gonzalez heard the bang 147 times in 776 pitches (18.9%).

The data is here. What a massive undertaking by Adams.

I understand the difficulty in holding players accountable, and generally agree with only holding management responsible but... This whole episode is entirely awful, damaging the game, and screwing with players stats. I wondered how they just pounded everything Darvish threw. The Yankees series before. The whole thing is sickening, and I'd like to hear some players apologize and own up to whatever they each individually did. How much money did Marwin make off this? Would he have even been a Twins target if his stats were legit vs garbage can inflated? Seems players are being let off the hook completely here, and the ones involved were totally on board and working it hard - and they win the world series. Total BS. Thanks DD

Early on, I took a look and the first or second thing I saw was Marwin batting, in a fairly quiet stadium, I think it was Tanner Roark pitching, and right before the pitch *BANG*BANG* for curve ball. Marwin actually struck out on that pitch but it was clear as day. Didn't want to post anything when I first saw that but very, very unfortunate how implicated he seems to be in this.
