REPORT: Twins Sign Reliever Addison Reed to Two-Year Deal

As far as we can tell, history was made on Saturday as the Minnesota Twins agreed to sign right-handed reliever Addison Reed to a two-year deal. 7/17 GAME NOTES: Twins Duck Rain in 4-2 Win Over Yankees

Pinch hitter Eduardo Escobar singled home Joe Mauer in the bottom of the eighth as the Minnesota Twins dodged the oncoming downtown deluge to beat the Yankees 4-2 at Target Field on Monday night. Escobar came off the bench to hit for Kennys Vargas, and delivered the key hit against Yankees left-handed reliever Caleb Smith, who was making his big-league debut in relief of Bryan Mitchell.   Vargas was sent back to Triple-A Rochester after the game to make room for Tuesday’s starter, Bartolo Colon.

Watching Byron Buxton hit with two strikes on Sunday led me to wonder what the rest of the team is doing with their two-strike opportunities. You can be forgiven if you don’t remember what exactly happened on Sept. 6, 2010. The Twins defeated the Royals by a 5-4 margin at Target Field. 7/23 GAME NOTES: Twins Drop Longest Nine-Inning Game in Team History, Series to Tigers

The Minnesota Twins had an answer for almost everything the Detroit Tigers did on Sunday afternoon — at least until the ninth inning. Twins Trade Catcher Murphy to Diamondbacks for Minor-League Reliever Moya

The 40-man roster churn for the Minnesota Twins continued on Thursday, as the team shipped catcher John Ryan Murphy to the Arizona Diamondbacks for left-handed reliever Gabriel Moya. Both teams confirmed the move via press releases.   Moya will head to Double-A Chattanooga to get his Twins career underway, the team announced. Twins Flip Jaime Garcia to the Yankees for Two Pitching Prospects

The Jaime Garcia era in Minnesota is over after 6.2 innings, three earned runs, one win and zero home games. Twins Trade Kintzler to the Washington Nationals for LH Pitching Prospect, IFA $
