Has Sano tried to come back? Doesnt seem like it does it? I thought T Duffey was great, but he clearly isnt performing, I would leave him and Sano off my playoff roster
What a brilliantly managed game! Irvin solid, Hildenberger ok, but gives up tying home run. I was surprised Molly went to Buse at that juncture, but Al was up to it and pitched very well. Then Molly brings in Belisle and he pitches well, leaves him for another innning..and voila Rosario! So criticize all you want but our manager had close to a perfect game this night!
What a HUGE game! Have any or our pitchers pitched 4 straight great? Ervin? This was a big, big game for Twins, How about Polanco? Where would we be without him? AWESOME!
Ok, I really think he is tied with Berrios.....I cant understand the constant banging of Gibson. Yes he has pitched some terrible gamea but he also has pitched some gems, and has been competitive in other games. Yes he fails about 25% of the time....but do you have a better option? Not only is he the best option the Twins have as middle rotation pitcher.....but he should come back next year as well, Souhan is wrong. On this subject do you realize how many clunkers Berrios has thrown? Wh
Looks like the Yankees got us again. Unless the AA guy has something to offer. If Enns can be sucessful in the Majors then I am coming out of Retirement! We have at least 5 pitchers in the minors that are better than him right now.
In a word, TALENT, no he may never make it, but the Twins will rue the day, they passed on him if he does. Falvey et al will have no problem justifying the pick but if Wright or The Louisville Slugger...falter, the Twins FO will n never hear the end of it. The more I read about McKay or Wright, they seem relatively pedestrian compared to the Electric Greene. You rarely have the opportunity to pick #1, The Twins got a hall of famer last time they were in this position, go for anothe
After Kinzlers blown save, I was gonna write urging the Twins to find a real closer, a la Nathan, Perkins.etc After last night I am rethinking, Kinzler was good...and Ive seen him good before, my question for you, is he a long term solution?
There are some real intriguing arms in this draft. With Falveys guidance, I think there is a good chance the Twins strike gold in this draft. That said, i want to explain my choice and the one I hope the Twins will make. There are probably at least five arms to look at and all of them have their different merits. Can we all agree that the Twins will not be in the pennant race next year? If you agree, or even think thats plausible, then I say, go for potential, go for the rare arm as unrefi
Its interestng to see a player who could be drafted as a position player or a pitcher....Why dont we draft Greene, play him at 3b/ss and use him as a reliever as well? This would be a great boon to the roster, you wouldnt have to carry an extra pitcher, when you bring him into pitch, you insert your utility infielder....feedback please
1- I want to see Mitch Garver catch almost all the games until the end of the regular season. 2. I want to see Gonsalves called up and pitch in the rotatation 3. I want to see Granite called up and play every day Did we ever receive a player for Arcia?
After watching Sano just drop a pop up that any little leaguer would have caught, it is time for me to comment. TRUTH Sano is a better outfielder than a 3b, you clamored for a trade of Plouffe, then for Sano to move to 3b, what now brown cow? IF Sano is ever to play the field, the only position for him is currently occupied....by a horrible contract... So yes maybe Sano can play the field...but it would have to be at 1b Dont run from this, I was the only one saying Sano wont be any bet
Ok, I was wrong, I thought Dan Gladden was the worst announcer in baseball, but go listen to Palkas first homerun for Rocjester....I will give you some idea...Palka at Plate, kills the ball..announcer, says, this game is going to be tied.. then says ADAM BRETT WALKER (a black right handed hitter) Palka is a white left handed hitter, has tied the game up....I think ok Walker hit a home run earler, then I look at the score and it HAS to be Palka....wow monotone, boring and worse, wrong player,
I know I am going to get my come comeuppance on this topic. I am impressed with Sano in OF, his instincts speak of playing a skill position for most of his life. Does Sano make mistakes? Bad mistakes? Uh..Yeah he does and has, and wil in the future. His bat justifies his existence in the of. I know many of you have clamored for him to be at 3B, but he is better in the outfield, if he was at 3b, you would soon be groaning at how over rated he is at a 3b. Trade Plouffe if you want, but S
The Twins dont have too many "untouchables" but here is my list based on either consistency or potential. Catcher - Nobody (I would consider Centeno) 1B - Park 2b - Nobody 3b- Nobody SS - Escobar, Nunez LF -Nobody CF- Buxton RF -Sano Pitcher - Nobody Thats a really pathetic evaluation. This shows how poor Ryan and Staff evaluate talent. When you look at this, only two of these were raised Twins, Sano and Buxton. Escobar and Nunez traded for from yankees and chisox.
Lets face reality.... The Twins Organization...does not know how to evaluate talent....Thats the number 1-3 problem. Terry Ryan...(i have been a defender of him in the past) got a lot of credit for the Nathan trade, developing J Santana etc...but who the heck has he drafted? I know, I know..Mauer.but even on Mauer the organization was divided....The problem pure and simple is..the Twins don;t have enough talent.... To be a decent organization, Ryan has to go...and my next move would be to
watching the Orioles feed (on my computer) Hall of Famer Jim Palmer was quite complimentary of Jose Berrios, among other things he said this, "This kid can pitch," "Berrios has three plus pitches, curve ball, change up and located fastball," he said some other nice things as well, but these are the comments that struck me
You would say? More than likely....you would say, they don't have a chance...The Twins young stars...tempted us...made us think....wow here we go...but were we Santanaized? Meaning...they looked great...for a short while..I have been concerned about Sano...since he fell off....hoping...it was the injury....but now not so sure... I also know Rosario isnt technically a rookie...and I also think Park will be ok..but really the Twins are playing about where they should be.... I was so disappo
Im finally going to say it.....Twins Daily Coverage of Spring Training Sucks! The story on Max Kepler today illustrates my point exactly. Ok Kepler optioned....why? How did he hit? Did he play good defense? For those of us who follow the Twins, Kepler had to be one of the most intriguing stories. We barely heard a word. Same is true of our new catcher, yes lately there was some info, but are you like me, and want to look at and examine his stats, maybe even a running total? For the se
Who would trade a player that Hicks was this past season for a catcher that might not even be your starter? I would think its one of two things 1- This catcher is better than what his stats show or 2- Ryan wanted to move Hicks for a non playing reason What do you think?
How can a guy that knows baseball so well, be so ignorant? Brings Perkins in to face Zobrist a right handed hitter who owns Perkins, result? Base hit of course, Perkins then surrenders another hit..3-1 Royals, Molitor did this same thing against Detroit, brought Perkins in to face Martinez, forcing Martinez to hit from the right side where he was hitting over 500, result hit off the wall, how could you be so ignorant?
Twins need to shop for a closer. Perkins mind is blown, you saw it in full color after giving up the hr, he kneeled in defeat, he has been great for the twins but the run is over. We can not afford to use him in anything like a high leverage situation. The most valuable Twin? Two possibilities, Eddie Rosario is in the running, but my pick is Eduardo Escobar, what a player He gets so many key hits, plays a great shortstop and now evidently has the approval to swing for the fences. D
I really hold back what I would like to say about then payroll arguments here. The fact that people don't accept the amount taken in dictates the amount going out requires one of two things. Extreme financial ignorance or fanatical bias that prevents the acceptance of something some basic. I did not change the argument. It's the same idiocy over and over. Do you really want to be on the side that suggests revenues does not determine spending capacity?
At this point in the pre-season, I’m just so happy to be seeing games again, I don’t care about the Twins record in 2023. I think they’ll win it all, unrealistically speaking 🙂
