Twins look like themselves at Yankee Stadium tonight, losing 8-3. Liriano has an awful outing and talk has started of what to do if he doesn't turn it around. Down on the farm teams go 3-2 (Beloit had doubleheader after yesterday's rain out). Nishioka gets 3 hits (all singles) and 1 walk. Sano goes deep for the 5th time, and Chris Colabello has a 2nd straight great game at the plate for New Britain. 3 HR in the last 2 game. At age 28, he's obviously not a prospect, but interesting story noneth
After getting swept at home against Texas, Twins go on the road and win in New York. Of course. M & M boys put up big game, now the team needs to put up consecutive games like that. Down on the farm, teams go 2-1. Beloit gets rained out, New Britain remains in 1st place after scoring 5 in the 11th to win. As mentioned before in my Day-by-Day blog, I wanted to introduce a weekly statistical look at the players in the organization. Below is my first attempt, so please let me know if I'm missing something, should change something, etc. All stats through Sunday, April 15, 2012. Courtesy of MLB.com and MiLB.com Quick analysis: With the parent team struggling early on, it's refreshing to see some of the Organization's top prospects performing well early on. The three that stand out the most to me w
Minors go 3-1. Twins lose a heartbreaker and get swept by what could end up being the 3 time AL Champion. Twins lose in a cold, misty game against the top team in the AL West. Minor League teams go 2-2 with no big standouts. Here is today's summary:
Minnesota Twins 2012 Season Day-by-Day Date Opponent Score Record GB WP LP SV MVP [TD=class: x
Another great rally from the Parent team to win their 2nd in a row, and climb OUT of last place! Minor league teams went 2 and 2 tonight. Although Aaron Hicks didn't make my MVP for the Rock Cats tonight (Deibinson Romero hit to home runs today) he hits another Home Run and Double. This was is a very important year from him, and though it's still early, he's proving he remains a top prospect and should remain on everyone's radar. Here's today's day breakdown:
[TD=clas
Twins get their first MLB win, overall a 4-1 day. Please note, I am NOT trying to step on Seth's toes at all by the day-by-days, he adds good narrative, and he knows a HELLUVA lot more than I, or anyone not employed by the Twins do about the Minor League. This blog is meant just to be used as a nice snapshot of the system on a day-by-day basis (see what I did there?). So use them as you will, I plan on adding stats starting next week, but rely on Seth for his knowledge and recaps! [TABLE=widt
Off Day for the Twins today, but all 4 levels on the farm played. 2 Wins, 2 Loses, Another big day for Hicks and Sano. Rough day for the Parent club, however some key prospects had good days. Dozier, Hicks and Sano all went deep. Below is the day-by-day for April 9, 2012. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdHRSa1R3UFVza1lXS2NlYTF1M1Z5dUE&output=html Again, if anyone knows how to embed this into the "blog" please let me know.
I had mentioned in the forums a "feature" I wanted to start - the Day-by-Day for all levels in the organization. This would be a nice snapshot on one sheet of how each team is doing on a day-by-day basis. I have a link below, but would almost prefer to have this embedded into the post. If someone out there has more knowledge about this then I do, doesn't take much, please speak up and let me know how to help. Without further adieu, let me present to you the first (of hopefully many)2012 Minne
I really hold back what I would like to say about then payroll arguments here. The fact that people don't accept the amount taken in dictates the amount going out requires one of two things. Extreme financial ignorance or fanatical bias that prevents the acceptance of something some basic. I did not change the argument. It's the same idiocy over and over. Do you really want to be on the side that suggests revenues does not determine spending capacity?
At this point in the pre-season, I’m just so happy to be seeing games again, I don’t care about the Twins record in 2023. I think they’ll win it all, unrealistically speaking 🙂
