Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html I'm thinking of possibly making this more of a weekly feature, coming out usually on Sundays. Within that I would likely have organization stats and Hitter of the Week and Pitcher of the Week. As always, leave thoughts if any.
Hitter of the Day: Niko Goodrum - SS - ELZ - APP: 2-5 2 3B (2), 3 RBI, 2 R Pitcher of the Day: Francisco Liriano: 6.2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html
Not a very active (or successful) night tonight. Ft. Myers is coming back from their All-Star break, while Beloit heads into theirs. New Britain has an off night, but GCL Twins debuted tonight, sans Byron Buxton and the Elizbethton Twins start tomorrow. Thus I have added 2 new pages and they new tabs can be seen on the bottom of the page. Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html
Sorry the day-by-day's have not been updated recently. Life happens, busy week, things are even busier when the Twins are in town. Now that they are out for a week, this should be back to a daily report. Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html
Catching you up on the last couple of days, but don't have hitter/pitcher of the day(s). They should resume tomorrow. For now here is the recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html
Hitter of the Day: Ben Revere: 2-5 3B (2), 2 R Rough Day for offense at all levels today, so going with the MLB guy who's making a case to play every day. Pitcher of the Day: Cole Nelson - LHP - FTM - A+: 5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 9 SO He and Lester Oliveros were the two pitchers we received in the Delmon Young trade. Today they went a combined 7 IP, 2 H, 0ER, 4 BB, 11 SO. Oliveros has the best chance to have any impact with the MLB team as he's already had his cup of coffee, but both are h
Hitter of the Day: Rene Rivera - C - ROC - AAA: 3-3 HR (3), 2 RBI, 1 R, 1 BB Pitcher of the Day: Francisco Liriano: 6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 SO. Back-to-back impressive outings. They were against Oakland and Kansas City. Give me 2-3 more starts like this and I'll start to believe. He's always shown the flash, it's the consistency that needs to be there. Good 2 games though! With all the draft stuff going on, I missed yesterday's getting ready for it. Just doing a recap today, but couple pieces of note. - Madison Boer wins his first game for Ft. Myers on Sunday going 5 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 SO. Lowered his ERA to 9.39 so you can see how bad of a start he'd been on. With the draft today, important to look back to 2011 and Boer was a 2nd round pick with pretty high ceiling. Hopefully this is a start of a better run, better than his first 6 starts! - Oswaldo Arci
Hitter of the Day: Oswaldo Arcia - OF - FTM - A+: 4-5 HR (6), 2B (14), 3 RBI, 2 R Pitcher of the Day: Luke French - LHP - ROC - AAA: 5 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 5 BB, 2 SO Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html
Hitter of the Day: JaDamion Williams - RF - BEL - A: 3-5 HR (1), 2B (9), 4 RBI, 2 R Pitcher of the Day: Steve Hirschfeld - RHP - NBR - AA: 7 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html
Hitter of the Day: Chris Colabello - 1B - NBR - AA: 2-5 GS (9), 2B (11), 6 RBI, 1 R Pitcher of the Day: Steven Gruver - LHP - BEL - A: 8.1 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 SO Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html
Due to the length of last night's game, I did not get home until past midnight and was unable to do the day-by-day, so here is the 2 day edition Hitter of the Day(s): Chris Parmelee - 1B - ROC - AAA (Last 2 Days): 5-7 2 HR (3), 2B (2), 7 RBI, 4 R, 2 BB Pitcher of the Day: Francisco Liriano: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 9 SO. After an underwhelming performance in the bullpen, Liriano shocks everyone and puts up a 2010-esque game with some dominant stuff. Was it a flash in the pan? Was it the p
Hitter of the Day: Matthew Koch - C - BEL - A: 3-6 2 2B (10), 2 RBI, 2 R Pitcher of the Day: Scott Diamond: 6.1 IP, 9 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html
A few hours later than normal, but here nonetheless... Hitter of the Day: Denard Span: 2-4 HR (1), 2B (13), 2 R, 1 RBI Pitcher of the Day: Andrew Albers - LHP - NBR - AA: 4 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO (Technically his start happened on Friday night, but wasn't official until the completion of the game on Saturday) Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html Being a Google Docs amateur, I just realized recently the li
Hitter of the Day: Sean Burroughs - 3B - ROC - AAA: 2-5 2 2B (3), 4 RBI, 2 R Pitcher of the Day: Tim Shibuya - RHP - BEL - A: 5 IP, 6 H, 1 ER (3 R), 2 BB, 3 SO If you look at the above line and ask me why he was the pick of the night, my answer would simply be "because I needed to pick one". In a night where no pitcher, starter or reliever, had a good night, I went with Shibuya. He was roughed up last start, so to see him bounce back to a "respectable" outing, and to do it on a night where
I realized just now that last night's edition did NOT have the May 23rd game for the Twins. This cold is getting to me. Thankfully it's on its last days. Hitter of the Day: Justin Morneau: 3-5 2 HR (8), 2B (7), 3 RBI, 3 R Pitcher of the Day: Madison Boer - RHP - FTM - A+: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER (2 R), 0 BB, 3 SO I chose Boer not because he had the best line (though no one really took charge of that tonight), but after his struggles after his promotion from Beloit to Ft. Myers, he showed good si
Hitter of the Day: Wang-Wei Lin: 1-4 2B (10), 3 RBI Rough night offensively for the Twins organization as 4 levels (Rochester had day off) score 7 runs. Pitcher of the Day: David Bromberg: 6 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 8 SO. Despite not getting the win for New Britain today, Bromberg gave them a good shot at winning before the relievers and defense blew it. Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html
Sorry, got wiped out by a nasty cold and slept all day yesterday. Here is the May 22nd version, I should hopefully have the May 23rd version done tonight after the Twins game. Hitter of the Day: Chris Herrmann: 4-4 2B (14), 2 RBI (Last 2 games went 8-9 2 2B, 3 R, 2 RBI) Pitcher of the Day: P.J. Walters: CG (9 IP), 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO Several great pitching outings in the organization last night, but P.J. Walters getting the first complete game in 2012 (who had him in the first com
Sorry for no update yesterday, attached is the recap from today. No Hitter or Pitcher of the day, but Jeff Manship did go strong in what could be a tryout for the big team. Despite no game from the Twins today, the organization has a much better day, winning in all 4 levels today, all but 1 convincingly. Here's the recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html I was thinking of possibly adding an option to receive the day-
I really hold back what I would like to say about then payroll arguments here. The fact that people don't accept the amount taken in dictates the amount going out requires one of two things. Extreme financial ignorance or fanatical bias that prevents the acceptance of something some basic. I did not change the argument. It's the same idiocy over and over. Do you really want to be on the side that suggests revenues does not determine spending capacity?
At this point in the pre-season, I’m just so happy to be seeing games again, I don’t care about the Twins record in 2023. I think they’ll win it all, unrealistically speaking 🙂
