Looks like Judge Dredd has a rib fracture. Sounds really, really painful honestly. https://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yankees/aaron-judge-rib-injury-1.42537174
Add Judge to the list of Yankees out for Opening Day. At what point do they start to wonder what they're paying the Strength and Conditioning staff for? I can see an injury or two but this is now almost 2 years of one guy dropping after another. https://www.amny.com/sports/cashman-yankees-aaron-judge-doubtful-for-opening-day/
I'm sure it's probably been mentioned but looks like Severino is out for the year. TJ surgery strikes again. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2877980-yankees-luis-severino-recommended-to-have-tommy-john-surgery-for-forearm-injury
Cole Hamels to the Braves for 1 year, 18 million. That would've been doable for us. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/28224887/sources-cole-hamels-braves-reach-1-year-18-million-deal
Apparently Carlos Carrasco has been diagnosed with leukemia. While the Indians and MLB haven't made an official announcement, he gave an interview in the DR. https://sports.yahoo.com/carlos-carrasco-diagnosed-leukemia-103854235.html This is bigger than baseball. Hopefully he can get the treatment he needs.
This just hit the wire. Apparently Carlos Carrasco has been diagnosed with some sort of blood condition. Hopefully he gets the medical care he needs to get back on the field. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/26904907/carrasco-blood-condition-indefinitely
I really hold back what I would like to say about then payroll arguments here. The fact that people don't accept the amount taken in dictates the amount going out requires one of two things. Extreme financial ignorance or fanatical bias that prevents the acceptance of something some basic. I did not change the argument. It's the same idiocy over and over. Do you really want to be on the side that suggests revenues does not determine spending capacity?
At this point in the pre-season, I’m just so happy to be seeing games again, I don’t care about the Twins record in 2023. I think they’ll win it all, unrealistically speaking 🙂
